i hv made phone call several times as to book the table for lunch , and got a sms confirmation rapidly. unfortunately i got to cancel the booking one day before appointment , i did it by texting to the number which i received the confirmation sms . No reply indeed.finally i got a phone call on the booked hour, i could not be free to answer. From the number seen, it's from the restaurant. Likely the cancellation through the sms hadn't work. It's my fault not to do cancellation properly by phone

Likely the cancellation through the sms hadn't work.
It's my fault not to do cancellation properly by phone. but i really think cancellation or amendment should hv been much more convenient for customers in this AI era.

Spices has a great location and a lovely outdoor space which is covered by a large canopy. Spices has a great location and a lovely outdoor space which is covered by a large canopy. The outlook to Repulse Bay is lovely.

We came for a bite to eat mid-afternoon, 330pm, and I don’t if it is because the staff were tired from working the long lunch session but I found most of them brusque and wholly unhelpful.

We ordered
- beef satays which were tasty but barely war
- chicken potato curry with rice and naan bread. We had to ask several times for the rice and we finally got it after we had almost finished eating! Apparently the rice bucket near the buffet table was empty and only the manager had the initiative to go into the kitchen to refill it.

The saving grace was a lady who served us only at the end. She was courteous and cleared out table quickly and confirmed if the meal was ok. A shame she wasn’t serving us the whole time.

The food is a bit pricey. Perhaps you pay for the location, but I have had better in other parts of Hong Kong.

Spices being one of the oldest restaurants in Repulse Bay has been a classic SEA restaurant in Hong Kong for many years, nevertheless I've seen a gradual drop in quality in these classic restraunts in recent years. Really really average food, you are just paying for the venue. Small portions, you can eat much better Thai food in wan chai for a third of the price. Also we ordered rice to go with out food and the portions given were extremely inconsistent between me and my friend.

Had brunch in Spices this afternoon at around 2.  Saw an empty table when arrived the restaurant at  13:40 but the manager ALEX denied to let us in (we had booked), received a phone call after 20 minutes and the same table was offered to us. The manager did not offer any assistance to wheelchairs during our entry and settle down in the restaurant. Afterwards, we requested to close the door (which connect to the outdoor area of the restaurant) as today was cold and the wind was fierce (we were with a 80-year-old elderly who was sitting near the door), the manager again denied such request and claimed that it is necessary to keep the door open for convenience. However, afterwards, the door was closed by one of the waiters and the manager also showed no intention to re-open the door, this shows that it is not necessary to keep the door open at all. 
p.s. all other waiters and waitresses in the restaurant (except the manager) offers great service

皆因上次「食過番尋味」、所以同一個月再黎食多次。今次我地三大一小叫左泰式蝦餅、土耳其烤肉拼盤、紅咖哩鴨、烤薄餅、菠蘿义燒炒飯俾阿仔食、仲有極力推介嘅冬蔭功海鮮煱。泰式蝦餅彈牙香囗、土耳其烤肉拼盤都頗有份量、有羊、雞、喜歡濃味嘅朋友必定喜歡、紅咖哩吾太辣、配以烤餅食非常好味、至於冬蔭功海鮮煱依舊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻、讚!今次叫嘅份量比上次較多、下次再來可以叫少一款、但仍然覺得是物有所值的一餐晚飯。
