大熱天時當少不了一個冰凍椰青,吮一口即刻爽哂﹗

**大食的你地都唔洗擔心,白飯唔需要特別Order而且冇限添,上左餸就會有人問你要唔要飯,用來撈咖哩一流唔。

母親節跟爸媽去。頭盤:(1)椰子雞湯,很重椰奶,也有一點辣油,除了雞肉還有草菇,雞湯味反而嘗不到,不過一份¥68可以分兩碗,分量十足。(2)拼盤:印度咖喱角,正宗。香葉包雞,OK。雞肉沙爹,美味。蝦餅,很香很好吃。(3)酥炸軟殼蟹,很出色,蟹比一般的大,外脆內軟,還保留蟹膏,聽說炸也分兩步,很講究,美中不足是蟹膏無味。至於主菜:(1)印尼巴東牛肉:大大塊牛肉,很軟,很多香料。我們根本吃不完,拿回家去隔天更入味。(2)印度燒烤拼盤:羊架和羊肉串美味,雞肉和三文魚也很香的乳酪味,三文魚意外的出色,很香魚味。(3)日本清酒燒牛柳,有三大片牛柳,很嫩但缺牛肉味。最後因為太撐,甜品只點了雪糕,椰子味的很濃椰子味和椰奶,石榴味的很清新像serbert.

其實 PJ 都不太懂得欣賞香料料理, 來 Spices 吃聖誕飯純粹因為聖誕夜要到分店處理事宜,貪其方便。話雖如此,Spices 的服務及環境是一流的,Christmas 的最低消費才不過 $368,是經濟的。

No SE Asian meals would go without fruits so we started our dinner with the passion fruit (or mango?) cocktail along with the crab meat pomelo salad.  I'm not a picky eater (although I did try my bestest effort in picking out the finely sliced-up raw shallots from the dish), but I agreed with Mr. K that the salad could go a bit more generous on the fish sauce as it wasn't salty enough - appreciated that the crab meat was fresh though!

Naan bread was ok.  At least it wasn't oily and did well in sucking up the curry flavor from the curry dish we had.  Was it curry beef?  Oops I really can't remember...but I do remember hoping that they could've added bit more spices / coconut milk into the curry sauce.

We dishearteningly passed on the dessert since neither of us could fit any more nip of food into the tummy.  Overall, it was a quiet and well-spent evening away from the city.  The location does offer the option to end a night with a stroll at the nearby Repulse Bay Beach.

淺水灣酒店有著超越的位置,優雅的建築設計,記載著香港歷史的印記,所以在裡面的餐館用餐別有風味。Spices 在淺水灣內多年,主要為東南亞菜,裝飾 以香料為主題 , 設計很有特別。 巴東牛肉是印尼菜式之中我的至愛。因近十幾年間傳統老牌由華僑主理的印尼餐館都相繼結業,有某些則轉營,已不是正宗印尼風味,味道也差了許多,所以有一段時間沒有食印尼菜。這次巴東牛肉是個驚奇,牛肉質地非常嫩滑,夠香入味又不老,燜成醬汁完全包裹著牛肉, 醬汁香濃又不太膩。 印度茴香炒毛茄,很乾身,味道很平衡。毛茄在東南亞地區如泰國,馬來西亞,印尼等很普遍。兩味菜都以銅煱上菜,還以爉燭保溫,實用又有特色。而且,兩碟份量非常多,我們都不能把它們吃光,真浪費。 泰式青咖哩魚,魚是用上盲曹魚柳,肉質尚算嫩滑,但咖哩汁則不理想,欠泰國香草香料,疑似用了現成咖哩醬,味道非常單薄flat。naan 印度薄餅,一向是他們的拿手的,有專製的烤爐,簿餅的質地及味道還算有水準,即做即焗,外脆內軟,不太乾,加添的香料恰好。可惜,他們的白飯真的欠佳,無飯香味,鬆散又不是熱騰騰。

There's a huge selection of Asian food, even differentiating between Indian and Pakistani tandoori chicken. I'd recommend most of the Thai/Indian dishes, but stay away from the Japanese stuff unless you're adamant to get your fix without leaving the south side. Service was immaculate, plates changed after each course, water refilled promptly. There's a bread station behind glass where you can see naan being made without the smokiness soaking into your clothes.

The Asian salad platter had 4 different kinds, they all tasted quite distinct and flavourful, but the portion was just enough for 4 people to share, each of us getting a bitesize taster.

The eggplant and pork stir fry was intense without being too spicy, and went down great with rice. The portion was surprisingly large compared to the others. The (Indian) tandoori chicken was very tender and nicely charred on the outside, the taste was milder than I expected as the waiter said this was the spicier one compared with the Pakistani tandoori. The morning glory was slightly overcooked and quite oily, and the portion was small.

The lamb rogan josh was a creamy pot of goodness, there were a few good sized chunks of lamb which had a right amount of fat to keep it tender. The sauce was all mopped up with naan.
