我一向都很偏愛食泰國菜,所以上星期跟朋友過來食飯。我們試了咖哩焗龍蝦,椰子雞湯,柚子蝦沙律,肉碎生菜包。一開頭先來個柚子蝦沙律,剛好可以幫助開胃然後大食之後的正餐。柚子跟蝦數量絕對不是平時在其他泰國菜館的得少量襯托,而係密密麻麻的柚子係入面、然後肉碎生菜包有少少辣味,味道剛剛好,不會太淡又不會太濃,而椰子雞湯就真的好重椰子味,雖然味道不太差,不過要看個人能否接受椰子味重,要看個人口味,而最後重頭戲就是招牌焗龍蝦,值得推介,無令我們失望,老闆很好人地問我們知道我朋友不太能食辣所以醬汁不會太辣之餘味道接近我們在泰國食的咖哩焗龍蝦,而且龍蝦絕不馬乎,每件都很大隻,這道菜去到必定是必選之一。我相信如果鋪位在當眼處應該更能吸引路過的食客。

Finally we finished off with a whole grilled mulletfish. The fish was stuffed with plenty of herbs in its belly which added a hint of herbal fragrance to the meat. The fish itself is not soaked in flavour as with a typical steamed fish, so it is a great dish for those who'd like to enjoy the original flavour of the fish. Dipped with the famous Thai lime chilli sauce, this was certainly a positive way to finish off our satisfying dinner.

We also had the oyster pan fried egg. This was unlike what we usually see on the streets; rather than being padded in oil, this was hot, fluffy thick, and oil-free. The oyster bits were plentiful, layered on top of bean sprouts, which all comes together into a rather interesting mix of textures.

Also worth mentioning is the grilled mullet. The skin was thoughtfully sliced off on one edge so that we could easily remove it and dig into the meat. The meat was white and soft, and comes off easy in big chunks. While the fish meat itself may be a bit bland, coupled with the sauce provided, it becomes a pleasant tangy dish.

The shop owner also recommend this dish of mince, thousand year egg and ginger. He mentioned that to spice the menu up, they sometimes conjure up different dishes which may not appear on the menu, and this was one of them. I’ve never had this combination, it puts the usual pork mince and onion in a thin sour juice, add in the sharp pang on onion, and the bouncy thousand year egg – rather innovative.

What impress me most about the shop is its service and attention to detail. Service was friendly, and simple gestures such as pre-cutting the lobster shell, warning us about the hot plate, and introducing food that was not on the menu.

Would definitely come again!

咖喱焗肉蟹 (原價 $268、半價 $134)  率先上桌,成品好大碟,望落去非常之有睇頭。廚師用了多款泰式香料、咖喱、黃薑粉、椰汁及蔥段,並混入蛋漿來烹煮大肉蟹。送上後先嘗一口咖喱汁,質感濃稠,味道既香又不太辣,馬上把蟹肉剝出吮入口,肉質爽滑鮮甜,能吃到蟹肉的天然鮮味,蘸點咖喱汁吃,極之惹味,超讚!

壓尾這一道是泰式鐵板香辣牛仔骨 ($128),牛仔骨以圓形鐵板盛載,上桌時香噴噴,而且每一塊都有一定的份量,絕對沒偷工減料。挾起一看,牛仔骨面層沾滿泰式香辣醬汁,咬下去肉質細嫩,而且肉汁與醬汁一起在口腔融合,鮮香味辣,非常惹味,令人回味無窮,用來佐酒一流。

飲品點了椰汁冰 ($18) 及龍眼冰 ($20)  各一,前者入口富椰香,而且冰凍感覺透入心脾,夏天喝極具快感;而後者亦真材實料,杯入面放了勁多一粒粒圓渾飽滿的龍眼肉,入口能嘗到龍眼的清甜,非常美味。其實已經盤算緊幾時再來試埋另一款半價嘅「咖喱焗龍蝦」呢!
