I visited this Thai restaurant for dinner and ordered a Pad Thai. The dish came steaming hot and freshly prepared. The taste was good but the small pieces of what seems to be egg or seafood shells in the dish was somewhat of a let down. Even more disappointing was the staff’s insistence that these were peanuts, when it was clearly to the staff that the peanut was still on the side and not mixed in with the rest of the dish. They also appeared to question my ability to tell peanuts from shells, even after showing them these foreign objects in the dish. They did agree to cook a new dish for me, and it was fine the second time around. In terms of service, I wish the staff had simply acknowledged their mistake. Hopefully the kitchen will be more careful going forward.

今日又去太古城行街,商場太多食肆但唔想同人逼,知道屋苑附近都有啲餐廳就行左去Thai Pepper。夜晚六點半都已經有幾枱食客,見到侍應同客人傾下計,估計街坊熟客多。冬蔭公。湯底幾香酸辣度ok,內附兩隻大蝦略嫌蝦肉比較實同鞋。炸鮮魷。個粉䊢麻麻又炸得好實,層炸粉完全放棄,唯獨魷魚算厚切同埋好嫩滑。另外配料係豆角-好腍,紅蘿蔔-好硬,失望!干炒雞肉河。在失望之際好彩呢碟粉值回票價。我比較喜歡大塊河粉,食落有囗感唔會碎濕濕,鑊氣夠蛋香雞肉入味👍🏻

去了幾天釜山旅行吃了很多泡菜,回來後突然很想吃一下東南亞國家的咖哩。午飯時走著走著便找到了這間THAI PEPPER。 叫了一個紅咖哩牛腩加白飯,紅咖哩味道不錯,微辣而帶少少甜,入面的配菜主要是泰國茄子都不錯。牛腩不黐牙好易咬。 整體不能說是非常好味的感覺,但可以說是不俗,但價錢上,可能位置很近太古城中心,加上由於咖哩(90元)本身不跟飯,要另加15元來個白飯,所以最後埋單成為:115.5元(連加一),感覺略貴了一點點。

同同事farewell,揀左食泰國菜,係太古坊做野咁耐都係食第二次咋,因為呢間餐廳唔預早book枱,就係等於無得食。而我地呢d日日到lunch time先諗食咩嘅人自然無得食。幸好今次有秘書book位先有得食。我地叫左泰式蝦餅,上枱熱騰騰,應該即叫即炸;蝦味鮮彈牙多汁,正;牛肉濕河,嘩,成座山咁大碟,河粉滑,可惜牛肉明顯炒得過火,咬極唔爛;豬肉串燒,略硬,但醬正宗,一食就覺得自己係曼谷街頭食串燒;腐乳炒通菜,正常好味;黃咖喱比出面的較辣,波蘿沙飯配有雜錦配料,米香有咬口;最後送上椰汁糖水,內有泰式馬碲,外面甜甜地包住爽口馬碲,係咁炎熱嘅下午,食左真係好消暑。整頓午餐,食得開心,服務好,加分。

最後就係食呢個免治牛肉炒河, 落單個時侍應仲提我地呢個比較多汁, 小朋友會中意食多D, 不過黎到賣相都唔錯喎!  雖然係免治牛, 但都好鬼煙韌, 食得好過癮~ 加上河粉好大塊, 好有趣!  不過河粉比較油, 連埋D汁食就幾濟!
其實我地幾後悔無聽侍應既忠告3個女人係食唔晒架! 但又唔想浪費食物, 所以最後我食到好飽, 要去行下消化一大輪先繼續做野
但我地食到咁飽都係每人$100, 加埋呢度既服務, 都算差不多, 幾抵食! 下次真係要試下其他小食先得!
Other Info. : 黎呢度食lunch最好先早2-3日book枱, 12點幾walk-in成功既機會較少, 因為佢唔希望你食得趕而佢又要留枱比1點既客人~

椰青係我食泰國菜必點嘅飲品
鍾意佢嗰種透心涼嘅感覺,幾乎係指定動作

話明指定動作,所以喺冇預計過有驚喜嘅情況下竟然感到驚喜
好清甜!好多時飲到嘅椰青都係清涼,唔會特別甜……可能未夠熟,撞啱運氣麻麻,啲椰肉仲會比較硬
同埋偏細個,飲兩啖就已經飲完,嗌多個又覺得唔化算,成日都要慳住飲……唔暢快。

Simple lunch request - we're hungry.Seated straight away. All good. Staff friendly - all good.Orders taken and came very quickly.The tom yum koung was all good. Nice and spicy but was a tad small - admittedly it was the smaller size on the menu, but could have done with being a little bigger. Tasted good though and that stands in it's favour. Pork with basil. Really good and just spicy enough to have a kick. The basil was almost crispy which really added to the overall dish. Definitely something

Pork with basil. Really good and just spicy enough to have a kick. The basil was almost crispy which really added to the overall dish. Definitely something I will have again.

Nothing amazing with the pad thai, but still all finished. A little sweet if anything.

All in all, good food and we all left satiated. Will be going again before too long. Reasonable prices too which is always good.

On a work day, after 12:30pm, you probably won't get a seat at this restaurant unless you book in advance. It's funny to go by a restaurant that seems to always be full but with no queue outside. What I've come to understand, having eaten at Thai Pepper on a few occassions, is that the mangement style is quite carefree for a restaurant where the food is good but not super great.

In the beginning I thought it was arrogance - the manager turning you away with a simple, "Sorry, all booked" - not even asking whether you'd mind waiting or giving you an estimated time when the next table may be free. It was as though he knew he would always have customers. Overtime, I've learned that there are ways to get in, even if you don't have a reservation - as long as you are persistent and willing to take the initiative to ask. For example, today I went with two colleagues without a reservation. We showed up at 12:45pm, and all the tables were already full, except one long table which could fit about 10 people. No one was waiting outside, but I spotted that a table of four was about to finish - or so it seemed. I inquired with the manager, and he gave me the typical, "Sorry, all booked." I nodded towards the table that seemed to be finishing, but the manager doubted they would finish in the next 15mins (he would prove to be correct). I then pointed to empty table of 10 and told him that we didn't mind waiting, and if we could wait at the long table. The manager told us that the party of 10 would be arriving soon, so probably not. Just when I thought it was hopeless, he gave me a lifeline by suggesting I give him my number, and that I should go window shopping and he'd call when a table was free. We really wanted to eat Thai, so we didn't mind window shopping. It took us 10 seconds to get to Broadway electronics - across the street - and we walked around for 10mins. Then we came back to the restaurant and decided to apply psychological pressure by standing outside in the cold. It only took 5 more mins before the manager noticed us and ushered us inside. Wow! He has a heart.

So, with some persistence, we only had to wait 15mins! Not bad for no reservation during peak lunch hour. As for the food, we ordered deep fried Thai springs rolls (three rolls), Pad Siew Beef, Green Curry with Beef, and Spicy Beef and Basil Rice. I also ordered a young Coconut juice for myself.

I always find the Pad Siew to be good, and my young coconut juice was perfect
I sampled some of my colleagues' dishes and they were pretty good too - not too spicy. Overall, if you don't mind the wait, Thai Pepper is a good place to have Thai food in Tai Koo -- and don't take "no" as an answer
