 那麼那些暖爐是裝飾用的嗎? 還有我事前已在電話confirm了坐外面是有暖氣的。雖然最後他都有為我們開暖爐。但作為客人, 我有必要受侍應的氣嗎? 


就是覺得很奇怪, 部份香港的高級西餐廳就是有這個毛病。對住外國人就禮貌周周, 深怕得失他們。對住香港人就呼呼喝喝, 真不明白這是什麼道理! 今時今日咁嘅服務態度唔止係未夠, 就情係不能接受


幸好我們都沒有被這些小事影響用餐心情。

味道多好的美食, 多吸引的環境, 都會給這種不應該出現在高級餐廳的侍應拖垮了。

I took some out-of-town friends to the Peak Lookout for what I assumed would be a quality dining experience. I had not been to the restuarant for a few years, but have always been satisfied with it in the past. I took some out-of-town friends to the Peak Lookout for what I assumed would be a quality dining experience. I had not been to the restuarant for a few years, but have always been satisfied with it in the past. Unfortunately this time we were not so lucky.

Service was patchy: we were seated outside and I requested one of the many heaters for our table (it was quite cold!). Our waiter gave us one but didn't turn it on, then walked off and we didn't see him again for 10min. I had to ask twice more for him to turn it on, very strange. Many wines on the list were unavailable (due to an upcoming change of menu we were told), as were several dishes (the waiter had to run back and forth to the kitchen to check what was still on). The food was variable. Some dishes were fine, but the beef bourguignon we were served was dry and came with potatoes so undercooked they were inedible. The vegetable curry was bland and most of it was left.

Overall a disappointing experience. I've had better food and service in Hong Kong at half the price. The only thing going for the restuarant is the (still) incredible venue, but I would not go back or take visitors there any time soon. Maybe will improve after the upcoming menu changes.

now for the mains:  2 orders of ice cold lobster with congealed butter  - sent back to be heated and returned over cooked and tough.  one order of lamb shanks served long after the other guests had theirs - the report was that it was tender but  flavorless.  One order of tenderloin - also arrived ice cold but still nicely pink, returned warm and well-done after being reheated.  One order of vegetarian eggplant.  arrived ice cold - and after reheating it tasted like reheated leftovers - three thin slices of eggplant rolled around overcooked veggies drowning in tomato sauce all topped with frisee.  not exciting, not flavorful.
No one took more than one bite of the dessert, a layer of jellies.  I could not even take that one bite because although it was listed as vegetarian, i believe the gelatin used in Hong Kong to set jellies is not vegetarian.  In any case, the wait staff was pretty inattentive and certainly was unable to answer any questions about the food so there was no point in asking. 
We were seated by the open door and it was quite cold.  The two gents seated at the end of our table got lots of exercise getting up and down through the meal closing it.  The manager did offer to move us to another table but that was 1/2 way through the meal and it seemed like too much trouble at that point.

牛柳七成熟變成個心中間少是

其餘全啡
舊肉又un又「鞋」,與食$50一塊百佳貨色無異,如果這是和牛,真是豬乸識上樹
蝦的味道不好
全冇味
簡單而言:名過其實!再上山頂我寧願去翠華食
去mr.steak都好過佢,是但喺蘇豪區搵間食都咪上山頂食呢間嘢!
絕對不會再來
破壞了我大人的生日氣氛

For some reason, the Peak Lookout always reminds me of those forest cabins in fairy tales because of its beautiful appearance and decorations.  Eventually I got the chance to try it out during the Hong Kong Restaurant Week.It is a beautiful sunny Monday.  Since I arrive early for lunch, the outdoor garden is quiet.  The waitress smiles pleasantly when greeting me. It is a beautiful sunny Monday.  Since I arrive early for lunch, the outdoor garden is quiet.  The waitress smiles pleasantly when greeting me. The environment and ambience is stunning.  You sit in a beautiful garden with lot of greenery and overlooking the blue sky, deep blue sea and lovely islands.  There is pleasant breeze and you could hear birds singing.

The RW lunch set includes appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee/tea.  The menu is in both English and Chinese which is very considerate.   I ordered Sashimi Salad, Sea Bass and the Peak Lookout Tiramisu.

The breads are fresh and warm, soft inside and a little crispy outside.  The waitress recommends the Sashimi Salad and it is indeed a great choice.  The salad is colorful and presented artfully.  All the ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the sesame dressing enhances the taste.  The fresh figs add a perfect touch to the course.  Sea bass is perfectly cooked to be juicy and tender and creamy, and it matches well with the mashed potato.  The tiramisu is smooth and creamy, and is well-decorated and presented.

Moreover, everyone, including waiters, waitresses and the restaurant manager, is very friendly and kind and helpful.  The manager Rick told me that they usually don’t offer set lunches.  So this Restaurant Week set lunch is definitely a deal. 
Overall, it’s a satisfying lunch in a hilltop garden with sea view, and it could make one feel happy and pampered.    I would highly recommend it for special occasions.

我倆第一次進入這餐廳,感覺像是在歐洲的餐廳,內籠以木和麻石為主要建築材料,燈光柔和,有樂師唱歌彈吉他,情調浪漫,我們選擇了戶外的用餐區,環境較幽暗,樹影婆娑,別有一番風味。翻開餐牌,價目是遊客區的定位,然而我們決定來這間餐廳之前,絕不會以為可以「食平D」。餐牌中,最吸引我的是海鮮拼盤,有新鮮生蠔,青口,蝦和亞拉斯加蟹腳等,二人份量賣$598,但太座說醫生吩咐暫時不能吃海鮮,牛肉等,以免影響傷口復元,雖然我看著人家吃得津津有味,心頭發癢,也唯有忍忍。問她有甚麼想吃的,她想吃些飯類,較為穩妥。

我建議以煙三文魚印度烤包$128作餐前小食,煙三文魚鋪滿包上,絕不吝嗇,上面還有些羅勒松子仁醬,增添香味,餐牌有一系列印度食品,相信印度烤包是自製的,夠熱亦夠焦香,與煙三文魚同吃,味道出眾,每人可分兩件。

據聞這處的泰式菠蘿炒飯$186做得不錯,也點一個試試,原個菠蘿挖空,用菠蘿肉炒飯,加入帶子,蝦仁,葡萄乾,青豆,洋蔥,腰果,肉鬆等,以黃薑粉調味,有香料味而不辣,惹味多材料,所以每一口都是滋味。

魚塊一般,非特別鮮甜,幸好有咸香美味嘅脆漿。粗身薯條夠熱脆口,唔會過諗。
建議唔好沾醬,加d檸檬汁同鹽,鮮好多。

英式炸鱈魚薯條配他他醬 Fish & Chips $168
鱈魚質地結實,魚味不太香濃,脆漿較厚,但不失香脆可口,灑上檸檬汁再醮上他他醬,味道OK,反而粗身脆薯條更為好吃。

由於兩份主菜的份量頗大,我們飽得連甜品都吃不下,令E先生本來安排好給我 " Happy Birthday!"甜品的驚喜計劃落空了,呵呵~ 唯有留待下一次有機會再嚐這裡的甜品吧!

Expensive, expensive, expensive.Starter we ordered Pacific and French oysters. We are unable to comment much on them simply because they were too small! Ms PRAWN ordered a Rib Eye steak with roasted potato and saffron basmati rice as sides. The coleslaw, potato and basmati rice were too dry and below average. The steak, however, was great! Soft and succulent inside, deliciously well-done on the outside with a smoky aroma.Mr POTATO ordered a Veal. Nothing too spectacular and taste decent enough.

Expensive, expensive, expensive.

The Peak Lookout was, by far, the priciest Bakker's Bites excursion since I began blogging about food in Hong Kong - yet it also offered one of the best eating experiences that I can remember for a while. Sitting down in the outside terrace near a calming fountain, we were surrounded by trees, flowers, soft lighting and a Romantic European atmosphere that made it hard to believe we were just above the hustle and bustle of the city.

Considering how magical the seabass main course ended up being, the starter was somewhat of a disappointment. Too heavy on the avocado, the result was a bland mush saved occasionally by a delicious bouncy-textured shrimp. I never put salt on my food, but this time it was necessary. It was cool, though, that the dish was served with a big pickle, so rarely seen in HK.

Arriving at a comfortably spaced interval of about twenty minutes after our starter came the highlight of my week: the Tandoori Seabass. Indeed we could hear it long before we could see it, and smell the delicious fumes rising off of the tender meat before we sunk our teeth in it. The portions at the Peak Lookout are quite big for Hong Kong standards so Natasha and I, despite loving to eat, shared both the starter and the maincourse because it would have simply been too much for two girls to order one each.

Served with a side of naan bread (you can choose between plain, butter and garlic naan when ordering) and two accompanying dips: mint sauce and a yoghurt-based sauce called "raita", the Seabass arrived on a charming wooden platter. As Tasha and I separated the meat to share onto our own plates, my fork and knife simply glided through the texture. Cooked in a tandoori oven, the seabass had dark toasted edges whilst staying tender and moist on the inside = in effect, the best of both worlds.

It was accompanied by soft-cooked onion, red and green peppers providing a mild crunch to balance the extreme buttery perfection of the fish meat. If anyone reading this does end up trying this dish, we both recommend NOT to dip the fish into the naan's sauces as it simply hides the delicate flavour of the main attraction.

The tandoori flavour was quite mild compared to the spicier chicken versions I've tried before, which probably was to accommodate the international clientele who can't handle too much spice. But the result was an elegant Westernised version of Indian cooking that really pleased me (me being one of those people who can't take too much spice, haha). The dish also hit a soft spot for me as it was infused with bountiful amounts of coriander, my all-time favourite herb.
Despite feeling quite full by the end of the seabass and naan (yummy!!!), we were so high on food and on life that we couldn't resist sharing a dessert together. After a brief glance at the menu, it became clear that the Chocolat Fondant was the way to go. Having lived in France before, where this is an extremely popular and well-known dessert, I can confidently say that it was up to par. The only thing missing was some fruit to balance out the richness of the chocolate and the sugary intensity of the honeycomb chunk decorating the plate.

I know this may sound incredible to some, but since my only experience with honeycomb up to this point was with the processed Cadburys version: a 7-11 treat called "Crunchie", I honestly never realised that honey was the main ingredient. The honeycomb served at the Peak Lookout was the real deal and as I chewed the honey melted and trickled down my throat. I turned to Natasha in amazement and said, "so that's why it's called honeycomb: because it's made with honey!".
This experience was a reminder that sometimes the real deal and imitations can evolve into two entirely different things: whether this is a good or bad thing, I leave to you.

凍海鮮併盤,不同上次,份量改為1-2人($598),但又加了半隻龍蝦($298),因此成品份量並不少的! 併盤中最喜歡還是阿拉斯加長腳蟹,肉多又鮮美;波士頓龍蝦也不錯,不過還可以再多肉鮮美些;另外亞洲大虎蝦及澳洲青口都是熟的,也各試了一隻,水準也可以。不過我再大膽,也沒嘗試法國Normandy生蠔,及美國topneck & cherrystone clam,不過這樣一來就辛苦了才火辣完不久的CEO,是晚大部分海鮮都由他包底呢!
