第一次聖誕節在香港食芝士火鍋,幾年前喺瑞士自家製了一餐芝士火鍋晚餐很回味,今日終於有機會同表妹聖誕節前夕去品嚐!其實瑞士餐廳在港已經很多年,但當然要節日去食先有氣氛!火鍋入面雖然只有少許酒精,但越食越面紅!芝士味很濃喔!別外一定要點炸薯餅,又趣又香口!

If you are a big fan of cheese, especially raclette, like I am. I'm sure you know the best place to go for raclette in Hong Kong, but that isn't a restaurant for a casual meal! I didn't really take pictures of the interior as it is usually really packed and I would consider it rude if I took pictures of the interior with them in it. However, look at this neat table cloth and setting, it's actually not a super casual place after all.


For a party of two, as we are just huge raclette lovers, we shared a soup, ordered TWO raclettes for EACH of us (making it four
) and shared some mussels.

You also get some bread to start with, and the butter is amazingly good.

Soup and mussels are both good. But as you could see, we still opted for the thick cream sauce based dishes... normally I would recommend ordering some refreshing dishes after your raclettes.

The raclettes are good as usual. Sometimes they may be slightly over cooked or undercooked (I.e. Too crispy or not heated enough), but the waiter/waitress would usually make note of that and make our next raclette better.

配搭特別,薄切黃猄肉刺生本身沒什麼味道,夾上淡味硬芝士,淋上帶甘苦辛味香草油,帶出清新肉香肉甜,好神奇。層次質感複雜多變,好好既一道前菜,醒神好開胃。

瑞士白汁牛仔肉配薯餅,又一道非常熟悉、非常傳統既牛仔肉菜色。牛仔肉鮮嫰滑滑,不乏肉汁夠濕潤,牛味突出濃濃。

薯餅香脆,外層金黃鬆化,裡面薯絲半脆半粉好過癮,薯仔味鮮甜香醇。正宗煎薯餅,唔係麥當勞硬實死實快餐炸薯餅。

香蕉船既杏仁片加花生粒,再配雪糕同cream, 啖啖都好豐富

再者,佢地既烘芝士、ham platter、牛仔腸薯餅同chocolate fondue 都係好出色。
建議可以一班人去,可以試多啲款式。同埋因為個度啲位都比較近,私私細語係有啲難度

呢個稍為有少少驚喜,因為切開佢之後啲芝士係爆出嚟,個薯餅亦唔係好似麥記嗰啲咁,而係一塊用薯仔絲組成嘅扁身薯餅


呢度嘅食物係唔差,不過價錢係貴咗少少…;服務亦唔好,外籍侍應唔肯幫我哋落單,要我哋等個香港叔叔,但個香港叔叔又鬼咁忙,所以我地都等咗一陣先落到單;另一個缺點係佢成間餐廳都充斥住濃濃嘅芝士味,所以食完餐飯個身會有陣味。

瑞士餐廳的芝士火鍋...一直都想食已久,而這間,確是做得很傳統很好的餐廳。首先,我們前菜點了一客煎鵝肝配砵酒汁和火腿拚盤,也把點的凱撒沙律當作是前菜吧。凱撒沙律也確是做得挺有水準的,拌汁分量剛好,蔬菜也清爽!重點來了!農夫芝士火鍋配雞粒吃過主菜後便是吃芝士火鍋的時間了,芝士火鍋有分有下酒跟沒有下的,每系列也有數款選擇的,看得有點眼花撩亂呢。牛肉的確很不錯呢,醬汁伴麵吃也是挺理想的效果,個人是挺喜歡薯肉的粉嫰呢。

A favourite haunt of my dad's, I decided to head back to the Swiss Chalet after many years of absence to refresh my memory of exactly how good the food was... and I definitely didn't leave disappointed.  

The first thing that hit me when I walked into the restaurant was the smell (and sight) of dozens of cheeses. Amazing! After being greeted by one of the waitresses, the smell of cheese slowly dispersed and we were shown to our table. A large piece of card displaying the great selection of entrees, mains and desserts were a welcome sight to my stomach. It took me a while to pick exactly what I wanted as everything looked too good. In the end, I decided to go with the vegetarian ravioli, salmon steak, the poppy seed slice for dessert and a latte to wash it all down at the end. 

After a few minutes, a waitress brought along a variety of fresh bread in a basket for us to choose from. Both bread choices I picked were soft and bouncy and were chewy but not heavy. The butter was easy to spread onto the bread and didn't 'destroy' it by being too cold (imagine being on a plane and you want to spread butter on your bread roll but because of how cold it is, the butter turns into a small roll of tiny pieces of dough. Not good). We were onto a good start and I was looking forward to the rest of my meal. 

My vegetarian ravioli was the first to arrive, and oh my goodness, what a dish this was. I am quite a sucker for pasta and I found this particular ravioli dish to be one of the best I have ever had. Too bad it was only an entree size as I could easily have gone for more. The ravioli pockets were accompanied with a rich tomato and cheese sauce which didn't drown out the vegetable filling and didn't make you forget what the main star of the dish actually was. The pasta itself was fresh and was very smooth and silky. A highly recommended dish for both meat eaters and of course, vegetarians alike. 

The next course was the salmon steak which was perfectly cooked and was drizzled in a cheese-cream sauce. The dish was served with okra and a small portion of wild rice. Again, the sauce didn't take away from the salmon and didn't turn the surrounding food items soggy, which I have experienced many a time.

And finally, the dessert. The slice was adorned with fresh fruit pieces including raspberries, blueberries and a wattle seed. A small scoop of ice cream and cream were also next to the slice to give it an added 'wet' element. I am not a big fan of having alcohol in my desserts and this one had raisins (am pretty sure they weren't raisins but am not sure of the exact name for them) that had been soaked in booze for quite a while, which I found quite overpowering. Having said this, the interplay of alcohol, cold from the ice cream, cake and fresh fruit was quite an interesting mix. I did enjoy the dessert but out of the three courses, it was probably my least favourite. 

After all that, we were given our coffees and a small selection of biscuits. The service was excellent and I appreciated the owner of the restaurant taking the time to speak to his customers.  

I wish I hadn't waited so long to go back to this place as I really have missed out on some great food. I will definitely be visiting again in the near future. If you have never been, I suggest you do - a cozy restaurant that serves great quality food and portions for a reasonable price.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Hong Kong, the food is amazing and there aren’t so many authentic Swiss restaurants here. It doesn’t look so fancy outside, the wooden door is more like a cozy chalet~ Since it is weekday night, we can still get a seat even we didn’t make reservation.I generally come here on Saturday or Sunday, hence I am pretty surprise there is dinner set menu!! ~~ I can smell the cheese from far away and the waitress has grated some more parmesan cheese for us
!! You just cannot resist the creamy texture of the fettuccine and it is SUPER cheesy and I can taste a bit of white wine within the sauce

!! There is Vacherin Fribourgeois cheese melted in the pot and they have added some white wine in it. I think white wine is a must for cheese fondue, because white wine can bring out the cheese flavor
. The fondue serves with a bowl of bread cube, chopped beef and some veggies. The texture of the cheese fondue is really smooth, which is ready for dipping bread, beef and veggies!! The beef is really tender and juicy, and it feels like drinking white wine when eating beef

I always prefer medium rare cooked beef and there is no exception, but the sirloin is overcook to medium well
…. The meat is not pinkish and a bit bloody, it is light pink close to brown
. The beef is rather hard to cut and it is chewy
, I am not so impress by it. The side dish of the sirloin is baked potatoes with bacon, which taste quite good tho
.
Just slightly disappointed about the sirloin beef is not enough to scare me not to come back for another cheesy journey
~~ All the food is cheesy here and I really enjoy that, however I feel guilty after eating so much cheese and high calories food
