Throwback to restaurant week 2020! Among the 3 starters I tried, I love pumpkin veloute best! Pumpkin veloute, together with black truffle and cinnamon butter croutons and diced pumpkin bites inside, gave the dish a well blended flavors. The lobster caesar salad is a signature dish here in Tai Pan, and they are extremely generous in the portion of lobster. Most importantly, the lobster is really fresh and tender. The duck terrine is bit too salty, but that goes really well with bread and the refreshing green apple salad on the side (balances out the salty-ness)! Overall, Tai Pan serves really good food, and in addition, their staff are really nice too!

For the main courses of the menu, I tried the salmon and the beef rib. The salmon was cooked perfectly, served together with fried salmon skin and a creamy white sauce. Every components of the dish come together so well. The beef rib is cooked in chinese- style, AND it was so tender!

呢一個係高級版嘅蘿蔔炆牛腩😂無可否認牛腩的確好淋,配上清甜嘅蘿蔔清湯,的確幾美味🤤不過比呢個價錢食炆牛腩值唔值就見仁見智,覺得有啲港式粉面店都做到呢個質素🤭。

挪威三文魚烤得幾香口,唔會油膩,不過始終脂肪唔多,略嫌有少少鞋🙈而且只係略加鹽作調味,唔算特別🤭另外底下配上煮到半淋嘅扁豆同埋忌廉,有少少似risotto幾特別。

最後侍應總會推出甜品車,俾你選擇甜品,款式都唔少,有成五款。

好欣賞佢嘅開心果忌廉非常之香,完全係濃縮版嘅開心果🥰泡芙中間夾有車厘子醬,有少少似黑森林蛋糕入面嗰啲,我自己覺得麻麻車厘子醬,成日都覺得有少少藥水感覺🙈。

opera cake一向都係我最喜愛嘅甜品之一,一層層唔同口感嘅蛋糕真係好正。不過呢一款冇我期望中咁好🙈雖然同樣地都係有幾層唔同嘅layers,包括朱古力coating、抹茶慕絲、朱古力蛋糕同埋脆餅,而且朱古力味道夠香醇,但有少少蓋過咗抹茶嘅味,仲好甜😶另外如果脆餅嘅比例可以多啲,口感更豐富會更好。

It was the first time for both of us to try a duck terrine. The flavour is not too intense, in fact, quite refreshing. The duck terrine keeps some shredded duck meat, which enriches the layering. It is worth to mention that the green apple salad and the port wine shallot marmalade aside taste extremely appetizing with its sweetness and sourness.

整體嘅感覺就係似一個西式嘅清湯腩。牛小排經過慢煮後質感變得好嫩,牛味唔重。上桌後淋入清湯,再以薑提味。雖然唔係我哋意料嘅西式菜式,但屬有創意嘅菜式。
Overall, it tastes like a western-style beef brisket in clear broth. The beef short rib tastes very soft and tender after slow-cooked. The broth is poured after it is served and had intensified the taste with ginger. Although it is not what we have expected in a western restaurant, the dish itself is creative.

依款美國牛肋相比平時自助餐食到嘅更吸引,肉質好軟熟,而且同醬汁嘅配搭好好。我哋都好認為依個美國牛肋好值得加錢去試。
This US prime rib is much more succulent than the usual one we have in a buffet. It is soft and matches well with the sauce. We both agree that it deserves an extra $65 for it.

甜點有眾多西式糕點可以選擇,而我哋就揀咗拿破崙蛋糕同芒果提拉米蘇。拿破崙蛋糕嘅皮略嫌唔夠脆,奶油嘅質感較重,而士多啤梨嘅酸味剛好作中和作用。芒果提拉米蘇嘅味道則較普通,水果新鮮,但底層嘅熱情果味道較淡,只能品嘗到芒果嘅味道。
You can choose from a variety of homemade desserts from the dessert trolley. We have chosen Mille-Feuille and Mango Tiramisu. For the Mille-Feuille, it is not crunchy enough. The cream tastes heave and the sourness from the strawberry could neutralize the greasiness. For the Mango Tiramisu, it tastes quite ordinary. Fruits are fresh but we can barely taste the passion fruit from the base, as the flavour of mango covers it.
