We have visited this particular branch a second time on this occasion, but as we had a bigger party, we were able to order and sample more dishes. We ordered the diced beef, the braised pork, as well as dumplings and chicken wings, amongst our starters. All were eagerly consumed by everyone (including 3 children), with a couple of items reordered.
For main, we all ordered two of their 3 signature ramen, seasame and spicy (the third soup base is original), most of us opted to leave out the bamboo shoot which because its fresh (or at least did not have the taste and texture of something out of cans) had a strong taste that needs to get used to.
The soup base is so rich that on every occasion, (my tally is 4 to date) I have drank all the soup; which is unheard of as I never drink the soup previously once the noodles has gone. Even though the spicy base is red, it is mild. The sliced pork and accompliment (vegetable like mushrooms, black fugus, etc) really combines well.
I must not forget that the seasame mill, it proved such a success in adding a great aroma and flavour to the ramen that it kept going round (as did their pot of crushed garlic); and as a result I have been sent on a fruitless mission to get one from supermarkets and grocery stores (all chains, big and small). Having to finally resort to going back to ask the restaurant. (and told they buy/import the item from Japan)
The meal was not overly expensive, but more importantly, everyone enjoyed the food. Being too lazy to write a separate review, their larger Tin Sui Wai restaurant in Ginza (lightrail) also does a really nice ice cream mountain with different flavoured bread dices embedded on its slope! That's delicious too.
