豬柳肉質會比豬排嫩滑軟熟,所以我揀咗豬柳。豬柳外脆肉嫩,既香口又保留到肉汁。雖然話係吉列豬排專門店,但我覺得吉列帶子比豬柳更為出色,吉列帶子好大粒又厚身,炸得剛剛好,口感豐富,而且帶子仲好鮮甜。

至於吉列蠔一咬落去啲汁擠晒出嚟,好有層次感,由脆到軟。不過大家食嘅時候要小心,因住辣親個咀呀🙊

Not a big fan of pork cutlet therefore fist time here. Friends from Japan recommended this and said this is the best in HK. The 鹿兒島豬排 was very tender and juicy. Salad on the side was also fresh. You can refill rice and salad as much as you want - very generous. The restaurant setup is also nice - feeling spacious (rare in HK) with privacy protected. In general, a nice place to come if you like pork cutlet.

Having came here many times but this was my first review of this restaurant. The setting of the restaurant was comfortable, with a number of tables facing the window which had a good view of the harbour. Having made reservation and coming early we were fortunate to sit in one of them.

We ordered two sets for our dinner, one being Deep-Fried Oysters and Pork Fillet ($302) and the other Deep-Fried Prawns and Scallops ($316). The staff arranged to have both sets put together in serving to make it easier to share after checking with us, a good practice in my opinion.

With an appealing golden brown colour, the batter was not oily at all, but flaky and light. I always rated Tonkichi as one of the best katsu restaurants in HK and tonight they did not fail me.

The pork fillet was tender and nicely seasoned, with the signature sesame katsu sauce enhancing the flavors even further. There were also mustard and sea salt as alternative dipping condiments. All the seafood were nicely done too, fresh and rich in taste, and cooked to the perfect degree, with the oysters moist inside and creamy, and the scallops soft and juicy. The tartare sauce was also great and a perfect complement.

With the shredded cabbage, rice, miso soup and pickles, the set offered a complete meal with also dessert (fruit). And you can even refill the cabbage and rice, so everyone could eat to full. While the bill ($680) might seem a bit high initally, considering the quality of the ingredients, service and environment, I would rate it as good value.

I give this place a 4 all round. The food was served extremely quickly - took around 10 minutes for all the items to come in one go. We hard ordered starters and one of the starters came after the main... So if there is room for improvement - it is to fire the mains after the appetizers have been served. Otherwise you end up wasting some of the food as you don't want the mains to go cold.... One way to tackle this problem is order the apps first then and when the first item comes order your mains to control the timing better. 

We ordered the Kagoshima Thick Cut Royal Pork and the Royal King Prawns. The Royal King Prawns were monsters. As a heavy eater you would think would two prawns be value for money as they are priced at premium  and it doesn’t disappoint. The prawns are meaty with lots of Roe. The Royal Pork was good but could have been more flavourful and slightly juicier. I prefer my pork slightly fattier and I would like to see Iberico pork being used to give it a meatier pork taste. The breading was light and crispy – the items were executed well. The accompanying Miso soup and cabbage is okay. It’s what you would expect but sometimes I wish they would jazz it up and add some dressing like a Goma or Wafu dressing. 


I give it 4 just because the meat doesn’t disappoint  and always consistent though the concept could do with a refresher as tastes have changed. Ginza Bairin offers a similar product at a cheaper price point – though less options on premium items which Tonkichi does excel at.

鹿兒島豚肉 (下) 比吉列豬柳 (上) 更厚身,食落更加啖啖肉。一咬開肉汁流出,而且肉質更鬆軟。最正係豚肉有少少油脂,食落好甘香,真係可以食多碗飯。

之前食評提過我好鐘意食炸吉列定食,可惜身邊好少朋友喜歡食炸野,鐘意的程度去到無人陪都要食!有日放工好累,又有少少唔開心,獎勵自己就去咗銅鑼灣世貿中心的丼吉!此店有午休時間,不想白走一趟的朋友記得先查看一下,我剛剛在晚市開門時間入座,未到晚餐時間,無乜人,店員安排左我坐入面近窗的卡位。可以睇到世貿對出的海,放煙花黎呢道可能都睇到終於到主角出場!我點了豬柳定食,外加了一個和牛薯餅,外皮炸得均勻,夠薄,時間也剛好,豬柳夠鬆軟,有豬的香味(一點都沒有臊味),完全不想加上調味醬影響品嚐佢的原味。和牛薯餅我十分期待,因為我比較喜歡吃牛,可惜相比之下我覺得豬比較出色,薯餅入面明顯有牛的,但食唔到牛味,被調味遮蓋左牛嘅香味,當然可能我實在太期待,個期望放得太高反而有點失望。另外的飯和椰菜絲是仼加的,啱晒我呢啲大胃王!雖然飯同椰菜絲唔係主角,但係用料都絕不馬虎,飯有飯香,椰菜絲切得夠幼細,口感較其他日式炸物連鎖店好,食落口亦都係甜嘅。當你要求添加,店員十分迅速幫忙添加,而且絕不吝嗇!份量和第一次差不多,我當天都加了一碗飯和一次椰菜絲!總結: 對食物同服務都很滿意!係一次不錯的用餐,曾有朋友同我講一年只

總結: 對食物同服務都很滿意!係一次不錯的用餐,曾有朋友同我講一年只可以放縱食脆炸油的食物3次,我就向朋友推薦呢間,如果係香港黎講得3次機會,我覺得呢3次入面呢間絕對值得佔一席位。
在剛進去未有太多人流時沒有特別想太多,開始晚餐時間人流變多就不繼有2-4人入座進餐,去到咁上下,無曬卡位的時候,我一個坐在卡位的位置就有點尷尬,因為不斷看到有其他客人詢問可否轉到本人坐的位置,我還未吃完都有2枱向職員查詢...雖然我覺得問題不在於我,但也不想難為了店員,在尾段只好急急結帳,吃完生果就離開,所以不太建議獨自一人時享用。
(當然這些只是剛好碰上其他客人質素問題,與餐廳本身無關,當天店員並沒有比仼何壓力我,每一位店員都係親切友善,正因為咁都唔想佢地難做罷了。)
