I had visited “Trattoria Caffe Monteverdi” for dinner a few years ago. The dining experience was great but pricey. Therefore, I am not a frequent customer. Only after dining at its branch at Central in October, I planned to visit Sai Ying Pun shop again! Chittara spaghetti with saffron cream sauce and shrimps ($220) was our second pasta. I always wanted to try this! Not surprisingly, both the pasta and sauce were good. Spaghetti alla chitarrra was a special one. Its texture was unique and I felt like steer-foam🤣. Little shrimps were added to make this not vegan food. The spaghetti is excellent, the texture is elastic and quite strong egg flavor. The sauce is made of saffron, thick and creamy, and rich in milk flavor. In addition, the prawn meat is delicious, and the portion is quite large.

The lasagna surface is golden grilled, charred and crispy. The lasagna is mixed with pork and beef. The meat is fragrant, the tomato sauce is sweet and sour and fresh, and the sauce is perfect which does not make the lasagna too wet or dry. The cheese is completely included.

而我地試咗佢介紹既lunch set. 相對晚市, lunch set cp值較高,比較實惠.

首先有頭盤包括軟餐包, 南瓜湯, 同青菜沙律. 麵包新鮮出爐,頗為軟熟. 而且廚師顧及食客用餐,轉登將麵包cut成bite size,方便入口.值得一讚! 湯味道不過不失, 青菜沙律用料新鮮,簡單配上橄欖油就已經好好味.


And I decided to try their lunch set. lunch set is more affordable. First of all, there is a starter including bread, pumpkin soup, and green vegetable salad. The bread is freshly baked, quite softly cooked. And the chef takes into account the diners to eat, make the bread cut into bite size, easy to eat.the green vegetable salad is fresh.

My friend and I have ordered salad and soup as appetizer respectively. The salad is quite fresh with lots of cherry tomatoes and mixed with vinegar. We also enjoyed the pumpkin soup with thick texture.

The salad tasted salty. I haven’t tried any salad with salt until I tasted it in this restaurant! It is quite special and I love this way of making salad. With the addition of olive oil, it added moisture to the salad. The small tomato was sweet, sour and juicy. Veggies were crunchy and fresh, not bitter at all. There was my favourite veggie: arugula/rocket! Being shredded, the carrot was crunchy and sweet. The salad looked so colourful with the red colour of tomatoes, orange colour of carrots and green colour of vegetables.

最特別係個甜品,叫Pannacotta。一上枱只見布甸上滴左一滴橄欖油,睇落好似太陽蛋呀!用橄欖油整甜品真係第一次見。食到個布甸有淡淡香草味,問侍應佢話原來落左basil葉。香草🌿同布甸味道好夾。侍應話呢款甜品係師傅特別創作嘅,重話剩係呢間餐廳先食到!咁巴閉,大家黎到一定要試下啦!

I especially liked the dessert Pannacotta. With a dip of olive oil on the pudding, it looked like a scrambled egg. It was the first time I even tasted a dessert with olive oil which is so special to me! Basil was added in the pudding. I can taste the smell of the basil while I eat. The basil matches the taste of the pudding very much! The waitor said this dessert was specially-designed by the chef and I can only try this dessert here. If that’s the case, I strongly recommend you all must try Pannacotta here!

 It time for treasure hunting in the border of Hong Kong Island in Sai Ying Pun .  This small family-style spaghetti restaurant does not have many seats, so it is very quiet. Its very comfy with this slowness.

 The salad was normal, the bread was soft and served with olive oil, which is not bad

 main course
 The half chicken is very soft and tender, seems like it’s been slow cooked!  With tomato basil sauce and olive oil, it tastes just right.

 It also comes with potato wedges, which are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The potato has a strong flavor, and the its served smoking hot, which is very good.

 Penne cotta
 The dessert contains an unexpected rich basil flavor, despite it looks ordinary, what a surprise!
