They stopped serving okonomiyaki!! Now it's just random overpriced teppanyaki. They stopped serving okonomiyaki!! Now it's just random overpriced teppanyaki.

We had a plate of beef topped with pre-made sauce, garnished with a small pre-made salad and some white sauce and it cost $109. I could have made that. You can get teppanyaki set menu that includes soup, 3 kinds of meat, rice and vegetables for only a little bit more money.

There was only one woman cooking for the 3 sets of guests, while 3 other workers (or maybe some were their friends) were hanging around in the restaurant talking, messing around and ignoring customers. We had to get their attention to asked for some water. Worst was they charged 10% service fee.


Once they said they had stopped serving okonomiyaki, we should have left. Our own mistake. They gave us a "business card" of their new location. The stack of cards were someone else's business cards but they used them to write their own information on the back. How cheap is that!


Don't bother wasting your money or go ahead and wait to go to their new location which they said opens in June somewhere (don't care...).

The restaurant was more of a Japanese styled pub restaurant, meaning Sake, beer and snacks are the main dishes, and hence there was not much choices on the menu.

Most of the customers dining in the restaurants were Japanese, and you could hear no Canton or English in the restaurant at all. Laughters were everywhere, with this lively music at the background, the cosy and lively ambiance is what I love most about this tiny restaurant. On the other hand, the uncomfortable stools chairs inside the restaurant was what I hate most. What worse is the stools were packed so closed together, it left you no area for movement. Expect no privacy here.

The restaurant specializes in teppan food, the open kitchen was merely nothing but a large iron griddle for grilling or frying food. The Chef was a Japanese, seemingly cool, he didn't not speak much until more Japanese customers arrived. From the way they talk, you could see how Japanese expacts are bonded together in HK.

There was only two choices of teppanyaki available in the store - the pork with egg or the mixed seafood Okonomiyaki. I ordered the simplier Teppanyaki with the pork and the egg. I sat in front of the iron griddle so I could experience the whole grilling process.

The chef started by mixing the paste with veggie in a bowl, spilled some oil onto the iron plate and pour the mixture directly onto the plate. The paste was left grilled for a while before he placed two slices of bacon. He then flipped the paste and left it grill on plate.

After a while the chef cracked an egg directly onto the iron plate. While the translucent egg whites was turning white, the chef quickly moved the teppanyaki onto the egg, pressed it down and rotated the paste a bit so the egg could be sticked onto the teppanyaki. He would also aesthetically wrapprf the extra egg sauce at the sides towards the tappanyaki. After another 10 minutes of grilling and flipping, the teppanyaki was ready to serve on plate. The chef then cut it in quarter and added homemade sauce, mayo and the fish on top. The teppanyaki is now ready to serve.

The teppanyaki itself had a nice flour and egg taste with fresh veggie fillings within. It was crispier on the outside to give some mouth feel but was not as crispy as those hard to chewy. The fillings inside had still kept soft. Each fork of the teppanyaki tasted some of the bacon, it was nice and crispy and made the teppanyaki very savoury. The saucing was nice, but I would like to have more. It would have been better if there was a set of sauces on the table. The fish on top however was not quite fresh enough. The texture was a bit too thick and rough, they should have offered some thinner shaved ones. Overall it was delightful to have the teppanyaki, both the taste and the process. Yet the whole grilling process was quite long, although it showed the chef did meticuously prepare the teppanyaki, but the waiting process was quite torturing, especially when you are hungry.

2) Calpis Soda $35
The Calpis Soda was my favourite Japanese softdrink. It tasted nice with a combination of sourness and sweetness. There were a lot of ice in the cup so I finished the drink rather quickily. I had not realise how expensive the Calpis Soda was until I had my check. Judging the price, I don't think its a bargain.

The tiny restaurant was quite nice to visit. The waitress and the chef were nice and provided great services. The cosy and lively ambiance made us feel comfortable fitting in the restaurant, even the stool chair was not comfortable at all. The food was nice but there are only limited choice of food. My main concern is that your whole body will be filled up with the aroma of grease after dinning in the restaurant. You would not be physcially greasy, but you just stinks.

I was the only Hong Konger amongst all 15-16 customers; the rest were Japanese - so, it's authentic.


Ordered Okonomiyaki with kimchi, pork, mochi (Japanese new year cake) and soba, as well as Endamame with beer and Chicken kidneys.
The Okonomiyaki was excellent. A hearty 'comfort food' of sorts. It doesn't look big (it's about 6 inches wide) but it's rather filling.

The portions there are not big (Endamame and kidneys) but delicious.
There is only one Japanese chief and two waitresses (one Japanese speaking and one English speaking), please be patient and be prepared to wait for at least 15-20 minutes for the food.

Also, since the teppan is right in front of you, it's rather smokey - so don't put on you best suit or dress there if you are going clubbing afterwards!
Cosy and very friendly service. Closed on Sundays but open till 4:00 a.m. on other days.
I'll definitely return to try out the teppanyaki seafood and the 'yakisoba omlette'!

今天特意帶外地朋友來吃,但卻讓人失望了。因為還有一位朋友沒到,先點了餃子、煎蠔和聖子,但來了餃子和煎蠔後,其他的都沒有來了。然後朋友來了,再後點的菜都一直沒到。炒麵沽清了也不早一點說,吃了兩個多小時只吃了4道菜。跟waiter追查時的態度很冷淡,後來我們都火了,要求馬上買單,他也沒有一點悔意,也沒有一個道歉,很氣憤呀!還好最後師傅跑出來和我們道歉了,才有一點點安慰呢!我是常客,兩個禮拜去三遍的,但這次的服務實在太差了。我看老闆要再請更好的waiter啦!菜很好吃,師傅也很nice,推介煎蠔!更好的是炒麵泡菜芝士燒餅。

Yu-raku was recommended to me by a Japanese friend and is one of the only places in Hong Kong I know of that does Okonomiyaki, a kind of Japanese egg pancake.

Slide open the door of this tiny restaurant and your only option is to sit by counter which stretches along the side. Perched on a stool here, you can watch the chef fry different ingredients on the hot plate in front of you and breathe in the different smells until you are drooling with hunger.

We began with the standard okonomiyaki which was a feast to satisfy any appetite, a thick patty of egg and cabbage and onion set on top of lightly crisped bacon and then smothered with cheese and the dark syrupy sauce that has a very distinctive flavour.

The care in the cooking here was impressive. A thinner, Negiyaki pancake was crafted over ten minutes or so, with the chef pressing rice crispies and onion into beaten egg to make a firm base and then scattering more onion on top of this.

The result was delicious, with the surfaces of the thin base browned but the centre still softer. Like the toppings of a good pizza, the ingredients scattered on top seemed to fit really well with this crisped pancake base.

Another wonderful dish used a really thin egg pancake to wrap noodles that were fried and smothered in a rich brown sauce. The combination of the frail egg wrapper’s soft, savoury taste and the richer noodles worked really well.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend Yu-Raku as a place to go in Hong Kong for an authentic Japanese Okonomiyaki experience. At about $70-80 a dish, it’s a bit more expensive than some of the other restaurants in the city, but then Japanese food usually is.

And eating okonomiyaki, packed with flavour and smothered with sauce and cheese, you really do feel more satisfied that you would many other places.

遊樂最吸引的地方,是凌晨時間還在營業,適合我等夜鬼。自己不算熱愛日式燒餅,特別不喜歡像時代廣場FOODCOURT賣的那種廣島燒,但不得不說,遊樂的燒餅水準很不錯,我想應該屬於大阪燒餅吧?幾吋厚的餅,麵糊做得剛好,味道不會太濃,海鮮饀料也豐富,最喜歡加了SOBA,麵加餅原來很匹配。

We went all the way to CWB purposely for the Japanese Pancake and dumplings at lunchtime. Saw on Openrice that they are opened and that I have been there before for their lunchsets. Since I really wanna to have Japanese pancakes, we got some takeaways. We ordered dumplings and a Pork, Cheese, Kimchi Pancake. The dumplings weren't as good as they used to be. The skin used to be thin and crispy at the bottom and juicy inside, but now the skin is thick and not crispy anymore.

The Pork, Cheese, Kimchi Pancake was really yummy even when I took it back and ate it at home. Was still hot.

夜媽媽十一二點0係銅鑼灣口痕想食日本野, 去呢間開通宵既 "遊樂" 食燒餅過口癮! 呢次係我第二次食, 之前無寫過 "好唔好食,又睇落去!" 既, 不過事先講明 woh, 好多人食完鬧到飛起, 因為佢地無水同茶供應, 第二前菜一小碟每位廿元, 如果去食之前, 記得考慮食完會唔會背脊骨落先好去 woh! 至於好唔好食? 又睇落去?

前菜煙鴨胸麻醬沙津: 鴨胸尚算新鮮不太硬, 本身鍾意食麻醬撈, 所以覺得 ok 既! 前菜係每位 "規定" 要食, 廿元一位。

我上次又係十二點去食, 不過今次個師傅仔唔係上次0個個有鬚既日本人 lu! 唔知會唔會無咁好味呢?! haha...

雞腎燒: 大隻佬既 choice, 同我以前食既雞腎相比, 呢個好咬 d! 不過我對雞腎麻麻地...

大阪燒餅 (豚肉, 芝士, 泡菜, 雞蛋): 一煎完即上碟夠哂新鮮滾熱辣, 個燒餅七八寸到啦, 木魚碎郁下郁下好似跳舞咁! 海苔,木魚碎蛋黃醬混芝士, 豚肉, 芝士, 泡菜, 雞蛋, 塊餅似軟軟既年糕, 你可以幻想下個味道啊? 切開四塊, 我唔擔心心好唔好味, 只擔心夠唔夠食! haha...


咦! 明明叫左兩個架, 點解得一個黎左既?! 原來漏單...大阪燒餅 (豬肉, 魷魚, 蝦, 雞蛋): Menu 上既豚同豬有咩分別呢? 我記得喇! 呢塊係用煙肉整既, 第一塊就用 "肉" 黎整既!

我鍾意呢塊有蝦同魷魚既多 d , 雖然蝦好少, 不過魷魚令塊燒餅好好咬! 最可惜係唔記得加 soba 麵! 下次0係銅鑼灣夜走無野食, 一定要食燒餅加 soba, 再加一個漢堡扒, 好想試下呢度既漢堡扒啊!

平時食飯時段都 full, 睇開好孩子 blog 都知道我最鍾意避開 d peak hour 去食野啦, 所以唔使等!
環境: 2.5 (非常簡單, bar 枱前一排凳, 只有兩張 order 枱。)
衛生: 1 (埋單比我見到"小強"0係個爐隔離。)
服務: 3 (女既落單有點遊暈, 落少左單後個男頭目就好有禮貌!))
設計: 2 (Menu 設計無花巧, 店內裝潢黃色幾活力, 連抽油煙機都係黃色!)
味道: 3 (用料雖然簡單, 不過味道同小店氣氛食得出日本姿味。)
價錢: 2 (二人埋單二百六, 一個燒餅 88元費唔貴見仁見智, 價錢貴在必比$20既前菜, 飲品至少廿三十元。)

最終評分: 1.5 今次見到唔衛生既小強, 味道 ok 都不推薦! (雖然我都會再去試下燒餅 soba 同漢堡扒...) 另外, 食燒餅預左有油煙味, 著靚衫拎靚袋就下次先去啦!

此食評沒有照片,因為跟前面的食評的照片差不多~而且很長又無聊。上星期五晚上8點左右到遊樂,怎料裡面已爆滿,所以這個星期五的晚上又一行三人再去,怎料太早到(6點45分),唯有到處逛逛再回來。7點10分回到遊樂店門,打開門,竟然幾乎滿座...(只有十幾個位,沒多少人進去都會滿)一位年約50的伯伯(老闆?)招呼我們到接近門口的座位,那裡好像與世隔絕一樣,而且到這種店不坐bar枱真是沒什麼意思,所以坐下來後又問了那位伯伯,是不是真的沒有空位(因為我們看到bar枱好像是有空位啊)。伯伯說只有兩個位子,但走過去跟師傅確認一下,回來後就跟我們說可以了!真是太好了!(不過我不知道為什麼兩個人的位可以變成三個人的...)我們就坐在師傅跟鐵板的正前方,坐下前我忍不住喊了一聲暑い,真是有點失禮...先來的前菜,我沒怎麼理會,只有在等食物的時候吃了兩下。首先我們要了:餃子,味道ok,不過覺得沒什麼特別~豚肉芝士薄餅,很好吃!芝士年糕薄餅,這個ok啦,我覺得豚肉芝士薄餅比較好,而且雖說是年糕,但我不太能吃出年糕的味道,而且年糕是一塊塊的,不是軟軟的...中途覺得口渴,所以叫了飲品:青蘋果梳打同埋梅子梳打~一杯$

先來的前菜,我沒怎麼理會,只有在等食物的時候吃了兩下。

首先我們要了:
餃子,味道ok,不過覺得沒什麼特別~
豚肉芝士薄餅,很好吃!
芝士年糕薄餅,這個ok啦,我覺得豚肉芝士薄餅比較好,而且雖說是年糕,但我不太能吃出年糕的味道,而且年糕是一塊塊的,不是軟軟的...

中途覺得口渴,所以叫了飲品:青蘋果梳打同埋梅子梳打~一杯$28都幾貴呢。

本來以為吃了這3碟之後會很飽,但吃過後又覺得可以再吃,而且時間也尚早(還未到8點),我們就要了炒麵奄列。很好吃!我很愛那個奄列。

吃的時候完全看到師傅的製作過程,過程中我們會猜那些是什麼。後來兩次看到不知明的物體(一粒粒小小的好像油炸過的),我幾乎把頭伸過去,結果師傅把一粒放到我的碟子上,哈!然後告訴我是什麼。日文名字啊,我沒聽懂,後來他再說是製作天婦羅時的東西,我們就明白了,就是油渣啊,哈哈。

另外看到師傅製作一碟用芝士和雞蛋所做的東西,製成品是很像瑞士卷...不知道那是什麼,很有趣,而且軟綿綿的。下次有機會會試。

坐了兩個鐘頭,吃了4碟東西,跟兩杯飲品的我們,感到很飽。同事開玩笑的說了一句”埋單です”(因為之前聽到老闆用廣東話問其他客人"埋單?"),然後我們帶著一身油煙味,滿足的離開。

感想是,食物好吃外,老闆跟師傅都很好人。師傅在製作食物的時候,有客人拿著menu問他問題,他也有回答。有時候會"彈"一句不說得不太好的廣東話跟我們說笑,哈。地方是有點狹窄,同事生得比較高,坐bar枱的時候"頂腳",我是沒問題~還有,抵不住熱的人,不要選擇坐在鐵皮前方~

我會再去,不過一定要bar枱的坐位。
