Felt like being in the restaurants in china town!

Ordered the signature chicken and the vegetarian pot with ducks feet.

The chicken was ok, the sauce was the best, however the chicken was slightly tough.
The vegetarian pot tasted better, it had baby sweet corns, black fungus, ducks feet, black mosses, all a good mix.

The most interesting thing was the bill!! It looked very complicated, hand written, like those you see in the movies. It had weird columns, anyway to make it simple, one of those old receipts in Hong Kong years and years ago!!

金牌香妃雞 - 6.8/10
When this arrived, I instantly noticed it carried so much 葱油 and Garlicky flavour - a very Cantonese beloved execution style will virtually any food! I guess its good in that
sense and its aromatic, but my major problem with this chicken concerns 2 things: 1) This was just way too salty, it literally made the top lining of my mouth started peeling off in protest... unbelievable 2) The chicken meat was quite tough, probably beyond normally acceptable. It was also quite expensive at around $120 for half a chicken. As for chicken taste? I don't think you'll get anything other than Spring Onion taste. Even the sauce on the side was the same taste.
ASSORTED VEGETABLES with FISH CAKE STIR-FRY - 4/10
This arrived much later and as incredulous as it seems, this was even much more saltier than the Chicken. I can tell you now, my tolerance of salt is really high already, its certainly higher than my tolerance of sugar - but this was around 300% too salty and my mouth lining was forming 'ripples' by now. The plain rice we ordered couldn't alleviate the problem. The assorted vegetables including Fungus and other vegies was like eating sodium nitrate, the fish cake texture meanwhile was ok but lacked fish contribution, it was quite dought. Nevertheless this was left unfinished.

BY THIS STAGE, ME AND MY FRIEND WEREN'T FULL BUT WE HAD NO MORE CONFIDENCE TONIGHT. DON'T RECALL WHERE WE WENT FOR SUPPER. OVERALL - THIS WASN'T BAD AT ALL, IF IT WASN'T SEASONED SO WRONGLY! ITS ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE HERE.

今天同吖爸仲有uncle去灣仔吃晏吖爸話想去悅香飯店食飯/我們三條友點了一份燒鵝,一份桂花魚片 聖瓜,椒鹽9肚魚首先燒鵝啦 皮好脆 肉好滑 桂花魚片 聖瓜都唔錯 圣瓜好淋 桂花魚鮮甜.至於椒鹽九肚魚就系好香啦 少少辣咁。好味道!

完咗會展既exhibition, 好攰, 同家姐姐夫去搵食亂 亂撞咁黎到呢度 舊式既飯店格局, 應該會有招牌菜 可能我係女仔, 招呼我既uncle對我好熱情下 地方都幾企理 燒鵝小女皇一向對雞鴨鵝都冇乜興趣, 不過呢次真係好好食, 唔太肥好有鵝味, 估唔到例牌都幾大碟 桂花魚片 + 聖瓜啱哂我胃口, 味道啱啱好, 清清地好好食 椒鹽大蝦幾大 幾彈, 不過小女皇都係覺得新鮮既海鮮, 唔洗咁花巧, 清蒸白"桌"就最好味 椒鹽9肚魚味道ok啦~ 不過呢d野真係大掛檔出色d, 而且真係幾細碟仲有3個人7支大啤, $22/支 價錢可接受啦~ 最後未飲夠但個uncle讚我同家姐飲得...... 唉~ 今晚算飲得少啦~ 哈哈哈

The MSG-free pig lung soup was also good, with the pig lungs slowed-cooked with numerous other ingredients like 沙參, 南北杏etc , giving it a very sweet taste. The sea cucumbers braised in shrimp roe sauce with vegetables was another recommended dish, with the shrimp roe sauce giving it a very rich flavor while at the same time being not excessively salty, this one was perfect for going with rice. For seafood lovers, besides king prawns braised in soy sauce (one of the signature dishes of this place) we would also recommend the crabs stir-fried with ginger and spring onion (cooked using fresh crabs and with good 鑊氣, definitely a dish not to be missed). Other dishes like deep fried 九肚魚 with chilli and steamed pork patty were ok but not terribly impressive in our opinion. Service was not too bad, especially after a few visits when you got acquainted with some of the wait staff. And don't hang around after finishing your meal for too long, as they do not serve desserts here. Overall still a good, reliable joint in the Wanchai area; we look forward to coming back every now and then for a visit - and not just for the love of chicken, by the way ... ...

地方裝修不錯,燈光柔和,牆壁以淺色木為主,看落舒適大方,服務是這店最差的一環,全晚沒有替換骨碟,添水亦要揮手才會跟進,最敗筆的是同學預先買了一個蛋糕來,暗地裏交了給經理,說是飯後吃時再通知,但後來經理見我們大部份人已停了手,但仍有一、兩位在努力中,便走來大聲問:「個蛋糕可以來嗎?」唉!想營造甚麼驚喜都無晒。隨即原盒送來放檯面,亦沒有問我們是否需要叉子和碟用,十時四十分,便拿了單來要我們先結賬,十一時十五分,店內仍有四檯客,便已關掉所有冷氣和部份的燈,其他人客可能習以為常,皆紛紛離座而去,我們也不例外。是時候打烊不是問題,可過來跟每檯人客說:「唔好意思,我們夠鐘打烊,多謝!歡迎下次再來。」是否較得體,人客會「知難而退」的,可能過去五十年都是這樣,仍然生存,有必要改善嗎?

OK 面是給地方和食物,而服務祇值一個哭臉。

各位老友,這是我今晚的氣憤經歷,我話過以後不會再去這裡食飯!話說今晚和老婆大人本來開開心心地打算去食番餐好的來慶祝我成功賣出舊電話,便去了悅香食晚飯。因為我很喜歡食雞,而悅香雞一向都有信心保證,所以便選了它。今晚還特別點了三餸一湯,當然少不得我的最愛"悅香雞"啦!飯店內最初一直都不是太滿座,期間還陸陸續續都有枱埋單離開,我們邊吃邊聊天,大約用了不足一小時左右把所有餸都食光,正在考慮點什麼甜品之際,突然有一位女侍應拿著單來問我是否叫埋單,當時我們還以為是她弄錯,便回答她我們沒有叫埋單。然後我們繼續聊天和考慮食什麼甜品;點知後來又有一位貌似老闆的穿背心阿伯過來,一聲不响的毫不客氣地把我們枱上的東西全收掉,只剩下茶杯和茶壺,在執碗筷的期間還把我的衣袖弄髒,我們在說他時他就充耳不聞地一聲道歉都不說便調頭走了。這時我們才意識到剛才的種種行為並不是巧合,而是要我們埋單免得我們阻礙他們賣枱給下一個客人。當時真的非常氣憤,本來打算繼續坐下去看他們奈我們什麼何,但最後我們覺得這樣鬥氣有失我們的器度,所以便唯有埋單離開。埋單時我們還向另一位穿背心的後生經理投訴,怎知他淡然地回答我們說有人在等枱。我們覺得在

飯店內最初一直都不是太滿座,期間還陸陸續續都有枱埋單離開,我們邊吃邊聊天,大約用了不足一小時左右把所有餸都食光,正在考慮點什麼甜品之際,突然有一位女侍應拿著單來問我是否叫埋單
,當時我們還以為是她弄錯,便回答她我們沒有叫埋單。然後我們繼續聊天和考慮食什麼甜品;點知後來又有一位貌似老闆的穿背心阿伯過來,一聲不响的毫不客氣地把我們枱上的東西全收掉,只剩下茶杯和茶壺,在執碗筷的期間還把我的衣袖弄髒,我們在說他時他就充耳不聞地一聲道歉都不說便調頭走了
。這時我們才意識到剛才的種種行為並不是巧合,而是要我們埋單免得我們阻礙他們賣枱給下一個客人。當時真的非常氣憤
,本來打算繼續坐下去看他們奈我們什麼何,但最後我們覺得這樣鬥氣有失我們的器度,所以便唯有埋單離開。埋單時我們還向另一位穿背心的後生經理投訴,怎知他淡然地回答我們說有人在等枱

我們覺得在現今這樣的環境下,他們的服務態度真的不應這樣,別說金融海嘯的今天,就算是經濟旺盛的日子都不可以這樣做生意,還虧它得到什麼香港旅遊發展局的優質服務標誌。所以我決定今晚獻出我的第一次寫這篇食評,將這經歷說出給大家來評評道理。希望大家可以給小弟一點意見!謝謝!

我見食評寫服務差,但我唔覺喎。我覺得佢地全部做左幾十年既叔伯軰,佢地唔係做得到對住客人笑,0個種機械人模式服務,但我感覺佢地好自然啦!但招呼我地個叔叔就幾ok呀。我同老公去食午餐,未試過呢間就試下啦!叫左滑旦蝦仁,豉油炒牛肉,生炒臘味糯米飯。本身諗住兩個人食三個菜都夠晒,不過見到隔離枱既"雞"好味,所以就再嗌多個例牌香妃雞。全部野都好好食,滑旦好滑,蝦仁又大又爽,牛肉嫩滑,生炒臘味飯好香,臘味好夠味,糯米飯唔會硬唔會"mook",好得!原來都好多人order呢個糯米飯架喎。至於個香妃雞,真係好得!我老公食完第一個評語就係;"個雞真......係好得!" 先講皮-----脆, 皮與肉之間-----0者喱狀薄薄唔肥,肉------嫰滑。總體黎講份雞好得,唔肥,又唔會諧!咁樣食左四樣野都係二百六,都幾合理。但其實我地兩個人食既四樣野係可以四個人食既,個生炒飯都只係食左少少就要包起佢返屋企再食!我推介大家去食呢間老鋪呀!

As we know this restaurant is famous for their chicken, but I ordered other food and it was also amazed me. Excluding the one whole chicken, we ordered hand minced pork with cuttle fish, braised fish tail with mustard cabbage, and baked egg with fish intestine. 昨天同5個朋友去咗悅香飯店食晚飯, 那兒的伙計服務十分好, 不過個老板真係極差, 事原昨晚我們叫了一個鯪魚球豆腐雜菜煲,其中有2個朋友食完覺得有少少酸, 咁我老公便想告知伙計, 剛巧悅香老板行過, 佢叫我們俾佢食一件豆腐試下, 之後佢話佢那件無酸, 佢仲話可能有一兩件酸咗都唔奇, 我就話一兩件酸咗即係這煲餸都有問題, 因為一齊煮, 咁其他豆腐在煲內我們都唔敢再食, 我話我們唔要那煲餸, 叫佢收番,堂堂一個老板竟然掉頭走且一路行一路講: ”扣番幾鈫俾你們”, 嘩當我們乞丐咩! 不過因有外地回來的朋友, 為免影響食飯氣氛及心情,我就忍佢無同佢理論, 所以今日馬上通知大家, 我以後都唔會再到此店食飯!!

小時候吃悅香的香妃雞有點驚為天人的感覺,但如今很多地方都有香妃雞或者類此的選擇,差點將它違忘了。$150半隻雞,作為招牌菜並不算貴。雞皮爽滑,喜歡皮下啫哩的亦應滿意,只嫌雞肉質地一般,未夠嫩滑。涼瓜鴨片及蝦醬鮮魷通菜就認真麻麻,雖是簡單不過的小菜,但前者的鴨胸片本身已有鹹味,還要整個濃杰偏鹹的茨汁;後者成碟水,蝦醬又不夠香,同樣令人失望。希望是一時失手或者另有拿手好菜,否則不會單為其雞再來。

I have been to this place for dinner for more than 10 years. Apart from occasional lapse in food quality, the overall standard is well maintained. I always order the signature chicken dish which is very delicious. In addition, the "ribs in vinegar sauce" dish is also nicely done. The steamed eel in black bean sauce is another one of my favorite. The shark's fin soup with chicken is superb.I agree that service may not their strong point.
