To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 臨時決定當晚食團年飯,尖沙咀重點商場中菜館都爆滿,想起石門有三間新開酒家,姑且一試,這間竟然有位。叫了幾個小菜:半隻脆皮炸子雞:上菜時賣相已差,食落微暖皮不脆(似預先炸好然後叮熱上枱,因很多套餐都有炸子雞),差!花膠紅燒豆腐:只得三件細小花膠,反而豆腐有十多件。瑤柱扒豆苗:夠份量,但豆苗不夠嫩,太老。大龍躉兩味:炒球有七至八件,上菜時熱辣辣,唔錯。蒸頭腩亦很大碟,大部份都是淨肉很少骨,不俗。除了大龍躉兩味外,其他菜式都是一般。可能食團年飯套餐或小菜都是這樣吧(小菜只得一個餐牌)。
