To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 翠園酒樓在香港已有多年歷史,它有多間分店,有些酒樓已改用自動煲水,但新世紀廣場這一間仍用傳統方式為客人奉上熱茶,而且不是用茶包,用茶葉沖出來的茶的確較香濃。我們揀了下午茶較後時段到,只有數枱食客,所以今天飲得特別舒服寧靜。不知是否太遲到,沒有我喜歡的腸粉,我們叫了幾款最普通的點心,鹹水角的皮太厚,要好有咬勁,如果皮薄就不用咀嚼那麼久了,义燒酥就鬆脆可口,很好味。蝦餃不算大粒,皮薄看到粉紅的蝦肉,咀嚼下去有肉汁,很回味。山竹牛肉夠嫩滑,配上喼汁是絕配。牛栢葉有濃濃的黑椒汁,非常入味,牛栢葉大小切得剛好,不會太大塊,容易在口慢慢咀嚼。這間酒樓經營這麽多年,仍有很多捧場客,是有一定原因的。
