To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 身為日本菜和意大利菜的忠實粉絲,想吃燒味的念頭只會偶爾冒出。而今天就正好想吃叉燒飯 XD太興是以燒味聞名的茶餐廳,叉燒的質素自然有保證啦。看到有新的健康餐牌推出,便決定一試由營養師設計的特瘦叉燒飯,另外要了隨餐附送的熱檸檬水。叉燒飯很快便送上來了,它和一般的太興叉燒飯是不同的。第一,燒味汁極少。第二,叉燒選用特瘦梅頭。第三,配菜較多,有白菜、黑木耳和小玉筍。叉燒味道不錯,濃郁芳香。最大驚喜是口感,它不但腍軟,而且有嚼勁。雖然是瘦肉,但不會又乾又柴。叉燒旁的白菜和黑木耳味道一般,吃起來沒有鮮味,也沒有予人清新爽脆的感覺。最差的是小玉筍,只有怪異的酸味,可能是放太久了。最後喝熱檸檬水,在寒涼的雨天中暖暖身子。總結來說,特瘦叉燒飯值得一試,但太興員工的服務態度差,沒有禮貌和耐性。
