To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 新年跟好友拜年,選址佈置充滿中國特色的豫園。新張數月,店內裝潢亦乾淨明亮。雖然是日有薄霧,但座位仍可飽覽維港景致。豫園小籠包一籠四隻,可能皮太薄,一夾底部即穿破,失去了一半湯汁。肉饀新鮮,美中不足的是稍失熱度。獨蒜子紅燒肉以鍋中有助保持熱度,大如魚旦的蒜子非常入味軟腍,一試難忘。半肥瘦紅燒肉濃郁甘香,佐飯一流。龍井蝦仁帶有淡淡茶香,全部蝦仁已去腸,看上去晶瑩剔透。蘸點醋同吃,更為誘人。壓軸登場的是蟹粉大排翅,橙色的是蟹膏。這道矜貴湯羹絕對是真材實料,隨便一夾也是翅絲完整、翅針輕滑帶爽。每一口金湯還包含著蟹肉和蟹膏,潤口香醇,友人與我也讚不絕口。豫園的服務也很細心,宴客大體之選。
