To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 好耐好耐無試過放假會正正經經咁, 坐低食番個正式早餐. 由於有事要辦, 稍為早起, 天氣又凍, 於是就搵左間茶記, 諗住食個豐富早餐.去到係全場滿座, 搭檯之下都有位坐低. 落左order之後搞下呢樣果樣, 等等下發覺唔多對路, 成個餐半樣野都未黎. 不過唔只我, 周圍人人都係咁, 即係唔似漏單啦, 咁就費事催. 又過左一陣, 估計都有成廿分鐘, 我終於忍唔住搵個阿姐問, 佢都好緊張咁即刻追廚房, 態度可嘉. 無耐終於有野黎, 但竟然係杯熱啡. 嘩, 以果度既速度, 容乜易我未開始食野, 杯啡已經凍晒? 我專登唔郁杯野住, 果然, 再過好幾分鐘依然無影, 而同檯早過我坐低既兩個人, order既食物先剛到. 既然如此, 我都無謂再等, 起身走人. 經過門口, 阿姐認得我, 聽到佢又即刻話廚房. 都好, 起碼呢位阿姐既態度, 令我對呢間餐廳既印象不至於貼地.真係未試過響茶記叫個早餐ABC, 竟然要等半粒鐘, 都仲係未等到!
