To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 之前試過太興的下午茶,覺得不錯。今天晚上再到此間開業不足半年的餐廳吃便飯。今晚我不想吃燒味,又不太肚飯,二人使點了兩個餸及一碗飯 。菜蕊抄牛柳條($72):上枱時聞到很濃的燒酒味,我覺得牛柳條味道不錯,但友人說太鹹,不好吃。金銀蒜開邊蒸蝦($84):用蒜蓉及東菜蒸,蝦身比預期大隻,放底的是南瓜片。蝦肉不新鮮,唯有希望醬汁可彌補;但醬油非常重口味,味精加鹹味到達極點。今次真的中伏了!回家後很口乾!友人說這餐最好的是個例湯。但我喝了兩口,覺得味道怪怪的,也沒有心機再硏究是什麼湯了。 下次到太興,除下午茶或燒味外,不會再想其他的了。
