Restaurant: Lo Chiu Vietnamese Restaurant

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 數香港第一代的越南菜名店,「老趙」一定榜上有名。一個晚上,我就與太座兩人在佐敦區一訪這間老店,一嚐它的越南湯河。兩人吃的都是最基本和經典的「生牛肉河」。老實說,它的水準未算最佳,雖然湯味確是鮮甜,河粉也滑溜可口,再加上大量洋蔥和蔥花作為配料,這河粉的味道是及格有餘的,但作為主角的生牛肉質素卻只是一般,肉味不濃,令人感到有點失色。不過平心而論,這位在八文樓屹立多年的「老趙」,可仍算有點實力,寶刀未老的吧!至於飲品方面,兩夫妻分別叫來了「鹹檸七」和「青檸薄荷冰」,兩杯凍飲都清涼解渴,以之佐餐,都不錯。
