To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 放假諗住同屋企人飲茶,上到嚟 reception 係無職員,只有食客坐等,以為等緊位,望一望又好多空枱,之後主動周圍搵到部長,佢單都無寫就講咗個枱號叫我哋自己上樓…我哋上到去,全自助搵自己枱號,搵到張枱但見已經有人,真係彷徨又無奈,之後先有職員叫我哋去另一張枱畫完點心紙,好彩快上菜,工場式經營,我對食物質素其實都冇乜期望但呢個瑞士汁炒牛河真係令我好難忘,感受唔到瑞士汁都可以,啲牛肉佢哋完全不計成本咁樣落鬆肉粉,嗰轉鬆肉粉直頭「喇脷」除咗上菜,基本上其他服務全自助,最後仲要自己去 counter埋單,仲有10%服務費
