To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 剛新開業,食過幾次晚飯,有時餸菜常遲遲未到齊,但由於近屋企,也屢次包容,仲幫襯經理買賀年糕點禮券。今天下午第一次去飲下午茶,一入去reception, 說三位,支客說等等,我接受,之後有一女士來,支客說你們一起搭抬,我瞱然,從未說過搭抬,我拒絕,支客即說,我無話過叫你搭抬(但行為已經做咗),之後經理(幫佢買糕點券果個)邀請我們就坐,是一張6人枱,我們安坐後,另一侍應問我們多少人,我們説三位,他立刻說:要搭枱,我們説:是其中一位經理叫我們坐下,我哋講咗唔搭枱,一係你俾過另一張枱俾我,之後佢去同另一經理報告,那經理過來,又説同一番說話,再說:而家沒有枱喎,之後我們立刻離開!你要留住D客,係咪要話:唔好意思,或者有其他枱時再同你轉,唔係咁既態度,況且,當時也沒有其他客人光顧,如此服務態度,不光顧也罷
