To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 難得與老朋友聚會,朋友說翠園最近有一個 $728片皮鴨海斑套餐幾吸引,所以就來這裡開餐,我們除了點咗那個片皮鴨套餐外還加咗一份是日例湯,佢哋啲例湯係分一份、半份咁叫的,因為有一位朋友未到,所以我們就先落單,然後跟服務員說待朋友到齊後才通知叫起菜,但服務員當時的態度表演出十分不滿意,還說等齊人才落單,我們說不用等,請幫忙先落單,因為怕朋友到咗嘅時候是日例湯就售完了,因為佢每日都有限定是日例湯的數目,所以就叫服務員先落單預留,待朋友到齊後便通知服務員可以上菜,第一道菜……..片皮鴨,超級唔掂,隻鴨不但凍冰冰,啲肥油完全凝固在鴨上,然之後鴨肉又乾,皮又唔脆,好似放咗成日先至拿出來,跟住等咗差唔多半小時之後才再出第二道菜 …… 涼瓜炆鴨件,又係凍冰冰,一啲都唔熱,我們就即時找了一位服務員處理,不但沒有處理還一個推一個,最後都沒有解決,在此期間有一個服務員走來跟我們說是日例湯已售罄,我們就更加火起,為什麼我在一個多小時前已落單預留的例湯,到現在才跟我說沒有,服務員還說最後一份被隔迫枱叫埋,我們當場就叫那位服務員找一個能話事的主管過嚟理論,在激烈的爭論後,那位主管唔知道從何調咗半份嘅湯來完場,老實
