To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 已經唔止一次去太興食嘢食到一肚氣,上次叫外賣常餐雪菜肉絲米、炒蛋、多士、連野飲,攞完之返到屋企後發覺佢哋執留咗份炒蛋,都算啦,當佢哋一時之間唔記得。今次打定電話去落單外賣自取,20分鐘後過去俾錢攞左單,收銀員粒聲唔出叫我喺度等足10分鐘先發現原來個外買一早已經準備咗!嗰度啲員工完全唔理!由得個客乾等,一啲都唔會攞外賣俾客人/通知客人。啲嘢食凍哂!仲要比佢話返我做咩唔問啲外買攞得未!簡直本末倒置!
