To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今日行街,行開海港城,發現進住咗好多新嘅餐廳,八一漁八係其中一間,取替左之前唐人館嘅位置。本身就一個勁鍾意食海產嘅人,冇諗過商場竟然有主打海鮮嘅中餐廳,所以就好想去試吓究竟呢間嘢掂唔掂。出乎意料之外,商場入邊嘅中餐廳竟然可以食到咁高質素嘅海鮮,因為中菜嘅海鮮最緊要第一個字就係新鮮,最難忘係個白胡椒蟹,選用頂級馬來西亞砂朥越胡椒粒,香氣醇和,經自行炒香、磨粉後,加入蟹隻燜焗,蟹鮮、胡椒香氣係嘴裡徘徊,絕對可以講得上係唇齒留香。仲有就係個甜品,食咗咁多到海鮮,加埋各種嘅肉類,最後嘅甜品係用咗椰青雪糕布甸,具體個甜品名真係唔記得,不過整體口感真係好Refreshing,令到成個咁我都非常清新,亦都解除咗好多油膩感,真係值得讚!
