To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 之前諗緊冬至同唔同家中長老試吓北上過節,但最終因為公司有嘢做,請唔到假,唯有留港消費。訂咗枱第二輪8:00pm,未坐低已經話啲套餐冇哂,咁唯有散叫,點知叫乜冇乜,燒味連燒肉、燒鵝、切雞全冇,所有有關雞嘅食物亦都冇,真係有冇攪錯?而唯一仲有嘅燒味 - 叉燒,份量仲少過快餐店燒味飯啲叉燒。大集團,做節、兩輪枱訂滿,竟然連最基本嘅燒味同雞都可以冇預備夠,呢啲係咩餐飲管理?跟住有樣餸催咗幾次都未嚟,催咗一個鐘後,先同我講廚房漏咗單,但嗰樣餸買哂,乜唔係已經電腦落單,點解都可以漏?點解我係全世界咁多地方食嘢,只係係香港先可以出現經常漏單嘅情況?仲有帶咗個生日蛋糕嚟切,叫個待應收碟上蛋糕,第一次就就咁放低個蛋糕就算,叫第二次收碟,就求其收一半就算,蛋糕碟就就咁一叠放係枱就算,又唔分碟又唔幫手切蛋糕。最離譜係班待應,當仲有七、八成客時,寧願去set枱準備第二日早/午市,都唔去serve現場啲客:無人加水,冇人收碟,叫佢又唔耐煩,收10%service charge又唔見咁嘅態度?所以大集團都係咁,過年過節你叫香港人仲點唔北上消費呀?
