To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 舊同事係太古城見完客,約我同另一同事到翠園飲茶。餐廳裝修得好華麗,由於附近有幾座商業區,午餐時段一定爆滿。好彩有訂位,同埋舊同事早到,吾使等就有位。餐廳有好多款點心同菜式。煎、炆、炒、焗、燉、炸梗有一兩款啱口味。車仔豬腸粉好滑,加埋甜醬同芝麻醬更加香。值得一讚餐廳採用竹籤拮腸粉比較特別,方便食客。帶子菜苗餃,皮夠薄可以見到裡面嘅餡料。帶子爽口,菜苗够新鮮翠綠。珍珠雞餡料豐富,雞肉夠滑,糯香且煙韌。但略為咸少少。叉燒包外皮鬆軟,叉燒吾太肥,加埋醬汁夠多,有水準。蜆芥鯪魚球,新鮮炸起,色澤金黃,好香口彈牙,加埋蜆芥醬更加惹味。而盛載鯪魚球的巢同樣炸到好脆。鮮竹卷腐皮有d韌,勝在餡料好入味。
