To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 未去過這間翠園,諗住地點集中,昨日早上和家人在這裏飲茶。家人之中有兩位是食素的,往常在其他翠園都有一些齋點心,例如羅漢齋腸粉、齋腸粉,素粉果之類。坐下不久,我們便請侍應幫手寫個素粉果。其它翠園都肯落單,但佢回覆話冇得落單,等點心車啦!等了大半個鐘都冇乜點心賣,就問其中一個推車,才知道這裏沒有素點心。有一個家人只有食馬蹄糕和豆沙包充飢,另外一個寧選擇不吃。對點心失望之餘對這裏的侍應服務更加失望。上面唔肯落單態度已經差,埋單時揮手叫兩個侍應都當睇唔到,最後唯有用在低級餐廳才用那招:長舉起手。終於有一個侍應靜靜地來到我身後(家人告訴我才知道),我真不明白,是我舉手為什麼她不是來到我前邊而是要我轉身來告訴她我要什麼?這是什麼服務態度?(備註:人均消費低不是因爲這裡抵食,只是冇嘢好食。😩;環境差是因爲座位一大陣雪卡臭味。)
