To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 今天, 和朋友有一晚餐會議,選擇了這間位於長沙灣貿易廣場的富臨酒家。看見餐牌有阿拉斯加長腳蟹,很想一嚐長腳蟹的鮮味。 因為我們人數少,問了店員可否選一隻比較細的長腳蟹。今天碰巧有一隻3斤12兩的長腳蟹,二話不說便叫了來吃。煮法當然是清蒸,約廿多分鐘後,長腳蟹已捧上, 很快拍過照後已急不及待拿起剪刀,把蟹腿剪下來吃。整隻蟹不算難剪, 但把多隻蟹腳蟹鉗都剪完,確實有些手累。入口,蟹肉豐厚彈牙,蟹汁充足, 如果由0到10分,極度鮮甜美味是10分,我會給8.5分。所以,基本上,不用點醬料已經很鮮甜,但我喜歡點上少許醋,令蟹的鮮味更加突出。把所有蟹腳蟹鉗吃光後,到蟹蓋和身了。一打開蟹蓋,就見到不少蟹膏,入口甘香鮮甜。 原來蟹身的肉也不少,吃光後都已飽了七分。一頓晚飯,吃了那麼多蟹肉,確實是爽!
