To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 本港有名食府,食物質素有一定水準,可是員工的服務態度則冇水準,令我們有d失望。本人和老公好久冇光顧北京樓,於是決定在此分店午饍,服務員安排一個近開放式廚房附近的位置,我本身怕熱,跟著示意想換一個較涼的位置,她叫我稍等安排,轉來另一位部長级的服務員問我:你想坐邊?我照樣回答:較涼的位置。她又問我:你講邊到較涼?吓反問我?她再說:你過那張枱認為得唔得?於是我們坐離廚房四張枱距離,確是舒服清涼。坐定五分鐘冇人問我們飲乜茶,我也要示意服務員開茶,但轉過頭又是那部長問我們飲乜茶?吓,我又再說一次。心想化悲憤為食量,決定叫了一個二人餐,食物上枱時服務員仍然令人刮目,兩小盅湯居然分兩次來回逐一上枱,幸好食物味道可彌補他們的工作態度,心情也隨之回復開心,但刹那開心好快飛馳,最後上甜品也要講俾三位服務員才可享用。真的死心了,希望你們光顧時不會那麼頂心!
