Jade Garden in Kowloonbay has a special meaning to me - this is the place where one of my best university friends got married. However, this place is always full of people, no matter lunch, afternoon tea or dinner...Thats why seldom do I eat there even I live quite nearby...


Luckily, I was off early last Saturday and could get a table for 4 people before 7pm. Although it was quite spacious, a lot of tables were reserved for special functions. Only a few tables were available for wall-in and each had to finish by 8pm for another round... Busy Saturday...



There were quite some sets and we chose the following:
1) Jellyfish in Sesame Oil / Cucumber in Spicy and Sour Source / Marinated Chilled Abalones (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): Refreshing starter of the meal. The cool and sour taste was specially good in such a hot summer day!
2) Minced Vegetable and Egg White Thick Soup (⭐️⭐️💢💢💢): This was probably the most disappointing dish.
The soup was tasteless. Had to add pepper to finish... Thats why all people chose the alternative...
3) Sauteed Sliced Clams, Shrimp and Vegetables in XO Source (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): Shirmps were the highlights of the dish. Big and definitely not frozen. Clam tasted good too.
4) Stir-fried Pea Sprouts with assorted mushroom (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): A healthy dish of vegetables. The portion was large and cooked in soup was really healthy!
5) Baked Port with sea salt and scallion oil(⭐️⭐️⭐️💢💢): Soft meat with crispy coating. Definitely wanted to try more but had to control - it was too fat and unhealthy... Suggest to share in a large group.
6) Fried Rice in Wood Pot (⭐️⭐️⭐️💢💢): Good seasoning - not too salty. But relatively few toppings, just a few chicken slices.
7) Green Bean Soup(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): Refreshing soup with strong herb taste. Marked a good end of the meal!


Overall, a good restaurant worth trying! Suggest to come in a group of at least 4 to try more dishes!!
