Revisiting some of my old favourites recently, and this time I’m back at Hexa for some lovely dim sum with a contemporary twist 🥢

Pic 1️⃣: Shredded Turnip Puff Pastry - $58 hkd 🥕
— Crispy and flaky texture, filling was slightly bland though.

Pic 2️⃣: Baked BBQ Pork Buns topped with Buttered Crust - $68 hkd
— Really delicious! Buns were very fresh and hot out of the oven. The buttered crust had a rich taste and was very crunchy which was well balanced by the softness of the buns. The filling was flavourful.

Pic 3️⃣: Steamed Dumplings with Cordyceps & Minced Pork - $62 hkd 🥟
— Interesting flavours! The cordyceps taste was quite strong, so those who aren’t a fan might not enjoy the dish. Pork filling was nicely seasoned.

Pic 4️⃣: Steamed Salmon Roe Dumplings - $68 hkd
— One of my favourites of the meal! Interesting addition of salmon roe which gave the siu mai an intense flavour. The pork filling itself was already flavourful but the salmon roe elevated it even more.

Pic 5️⃣: Steamed Dumplings with Conpoy and Minced Pork - $58 hkd

Pic 6️⃣: Steamed Red Date Pudding - $68 hkd
— Strong red date taste to this and not overly sweet. Loved the coconut pudding layer in between which made it even more fragrant.

Pic 7️⃣: Steamed Bamboo Charcoal Buns with Egg Custard Cream - $58 hkd
— A MUST order here!!! Hands down one of the best 流沙包 in HK! The buns are super soft and freshly steamed, and the egg custard has a perfect level of sweetness to it that is balanced out well with the salted egg yolk in it. The filling is also super rich yet runny.

Pic 8️⃣: Steamed Cantonese Sponge Cake - $50 hkd
— A bit oily, and not very soft. This had a good level of sweetness though.

Pic 9️⃣: Steamed Rice Flour Rolls with BBQ Kurobata Pork - $68 hkd
— This was super good!! The rice flour rolls were thin and held the filling well. There was a good amount of the BBQ Pork filling that was well seasoned and was intensely flavourful.
