Had a quick dinner here as given a rain check by my original dining companion. Had a quick dinner here as given a rain check by my original dining companion. My stand-in was gracious enough to treat me to make up for it.

The place was not yet filled with its usual dinner crowds and we took the edge off our hunger with the tomato salad - beautifully arrayed with a red-green contrast, the tomatoes were fresh and the seaweed had a chewy texture. The grilled pineapple with foie gras was somewhat less generous in portion but the pineapple was just as sweet and the liver melting with guilt as ever. The beef set ordered by my companion was quite reportedly good, while my 5-sashimi rice set was most satisfying. The crab meat and salmon roe were fair, the scallop and prawn sashimi were so fresh that they tasted almost sweet and the salmon belly sashimi was fatty and tender.

The service was attentive and the staff very polite. It was a pure pleasure dining here and considering the amount of food and the store being in Elements, this was really a good value for money meal at $342 per head.
