To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. They charge you a whopping $358 per person for laughably only 15 types of ordinary dim sum, of which seven are vegetarian. There are seven more fulfilling types but you pay extra for every single piece. The final bill comes up to round $450 at least per person.



It would be less appalling if the taste justified the price. The food, however, was inauthentic, unsavoury, accompanied by a cacophony of noises, such as the hearty, feisty swearing of waiters.



Service was also a disappointment. Expect to have to keep reminding the waiters to give you chopsticks, refill the teapot because the they did not appear to care to exhibit a modicum of attentiveness. Expect to have to wait for aeons for the food to come. Expect to have your order messed up.


The experience was ghastly. A total disappointment.
