A celebration lunch after two months of hard work, big thanks to boss as Igot to pick a restro I wanted to go for a proper feast! I conduct a small research and with a sushi-guru’s recommendation I picked Sushi Wadatsumi and managed to secure two seats for our lunch today. They offered two menus for lunch and we had the one cost 1,080 and we had a small bottle of nihonshu , they don’t have much options for 300ml bottles and I picked one from Yamagata which I believe it is a safe bet and definitel
They offered two menus for lunch and we had the one cost 1,080 and we had a small bottle of nihonshu , they don’t have much options for 300ml bottles and I picked one from Yamagata which I believe it is a safe bet and definitely easy to drink.
Starters including a very saucy tomato 🍅cold dish, 🦀 Chawanmushi, Smokey bonito, braised octopus as well as a charcoal grill eel!
The texture of the Chawanmushi was so silky, crab meat is super sweet and the ginkgo nut is definitely the highlight! very high quality one!
The bonito fish was very tasty, so does the octopus although it is a little too sweet for me personally!
The eel is also very nice, crispy skin and oily meat and all we need is to add a couple of lime drops before we eat it!
The sushi combination is 12pcs of sushi plus a chef special sushi roll.
Starting with flathead , shima aji, amai ebi, marinated tuna, toro, aji, kohada and then a piece of inshigaki gai for the first eight piece of our sushi! The rice is slightly acidic for me but the texture is good, and I appreciate the chef to confirm with us if the sushi rice size meet our expectations, I do have friends prefer a smaller amount of sushi rice and some guys love rice and prefer a bigger piece , it is definitely great for them to check on our preference before he starting to craft other sushi pieces for us.
Shima aji is tasty as always, the marinated tuna sushi with a hint of yuzu is also very impressive, and the ishigaki gai is great as it is a seasonal item super sweet !
And with some luck I had a piece of Kohada! Sightly marinated with vinegar the taste of this fish give my tastebuds a good punch 🤛, sooooo good!
Then we have sous vide scallop, ma fun sea urchin, rosy seabass as well as anago sushi.
we added an extra side dish their very famous ankimo before the mince toro handroll. We then have soup, pudding style tamagoyaki
Before they serve us the ice cream, which is an ice cream imported from Japan.
The scallop was nicely done , rosy seabass has a very nice texture and blended so well with the sushi rice, uni is good and the anago is nice and soft although my companion didn’t enjoy it that much lol!
I have got to say their ankimo is porbably the best I have had in hk, the texture is so silky and flavourful,it was an additional item we order and we almost wanna order another serve of this😂
Chef is nice and helpful the overall experience is awesome! I like the environment of the store being so nice and clean and the chef is very nice to chat with , definitely a place on my to-go list again !
