I heard many good reviews about the food at JOM so we decided to buy takeaway for dinner. We ordered a chicken rice, 2 nasi lemak and a laksa. The laksa was not bad, broth was thick and flavourful. Chicken rice was okay, but I thought the rice could be more fragrant and flavourful, it tasted a bit bland. The most disappointing one was the nasi lemak. Chicken rice was okay, but I thought the rice could be more fragrant and flavourful, it tasted a bit bland. The most disappointing one was the nasi lemak. The nasi lemak came with a side of achar, but the achar was spoilt. Its sauce seeped through the rice so the rice had the spoilt flavour as well. The whole box of nasi lemak could not be eaten cos it only tasted like the spoilt achar. We called the restaurant to complain but they wouldn't admit that the achar is spoilt, they claim that the achar is delivered by their supplier everyday and their chef tasted it and said there was no issue. However, we being Singaporeans, know the taste of achar very well, that's why we were very certain it was spoilt. This was a very disappointing experience overall because we had to throw away both boxes of nasi lemak.
