We tried TRi in Repulse Bay without really knowing what to expect. We had delightful memories about Bali's Warung but weren't sure how much that could translate into something authentic after traveling all the way to HK. We ended up having a memorable dinner. TRi offers a very special atmosphere, with just what's required of hype while remaining faithful to balinese traditions. The environment is impressive, the bar table is made of a while massive tree trunk (they apparently flew it from Bali by plane, I'm not sure how much was the plane ticket). We were seated at the lotus table. It's pretty unique, perfect for a romantic date, although keeping your legs under the low table after two hours felt a bit uncomfortable ; if your date is a yoga fan, a good lotus pose will do. The food was really great. We started with the Gado Gado salad, very refreshing, with its association of peanuts sauce and pickles reminding us the balinese appetizers you usually get in your balinese plates. Then we had the Duck Goreng : that one is a must try. The portion looked a bit small but the taste is really unique. The duck is crispy and tender, the chili mango and the pink grapefruit gives it a very original flavor. For the mains, we shared the Angus beef ribs and the Sea Food Nasi Goreng, along with the mixed fried potatoes with chili samba. The beef was super tender, melting in the mouth and perfectly gets along with the fried potatoes (a mix of different varieties of potatoes, all fried yet not oily). The sea food Nasi Goreng was good but less noticeable (felt like a good old sea food fried rice, good but a bit plain when compared to the rest). I'm not so much of a dessert person and friends joined us for desserts so I can't really remember what we ordered but everything was along the same lines. Service was great as well, staff helped with the choices without being constantly on your back like they sometimes are in restaurants in HK.
To summarize, great place if you want to try something new at a reasonable price for gastronomy food (about 600 HKD per head wine included).
