Suggested by my ex-colleague, we had a Japanese lunch at Dondonya. We ordered Chirashi, Katsu, and Katsu with curry. All were set base. Chirashi Don set: All sashimi was fresh. It came with a miso soup, burdock root pickles (牛蒡), green salad, and radish and cucumber pickles. I really enjoy all different types of Japanese vegetable pickles. Katsu Don set (HK$108): It took over 20 minutes for this 炸豬排 set. The deep fried skin was so crispy but the pork was tasteless (無豬肉味!) The set came

Katsu with Curry set: Although the Katsu don set took over 20 minutes, this katsu with curry took only 10 minutes to arrive the dining table . And the funny thing is that this piece of pork was NOT tasteless. It had 豬肉味. the set also came with burdock root pickles, green salad, and miso soup. The Japanese curry sauce was too diluted (好淡的咖哩味 )
We also got a hot coffee to end this meal. The coffee was quite strong but not hot enough.
This restaurant gave me a feeling of "lots of area to be improved", such as the qulity of the curry sauce, waiter's efficiency, temperature of the coffee, quality of the pork cutlet used for katsu set, and the air circulation in the dinning area.
