Back from a long vacation in Canada and  I wanted something Asian. So, I met boyfriend here for lunch as I wanted to try it.

PappaRich Malaysian Delights is a popular chain in throughout Malaysia with international branches from Australia to yes .. now Hong Kong.

Located in Causeway Bay, in the L Square (a building with a number of othe restaurants that I've tried the majority of and will go through them all shortly). The layout is actually quite small but that is the way the building is set up. Decoration is quite nice, though. It oddly looked more like a Western restaurant than Malaysian.

As we were here for lunch, only the lunch menu was available. Menu in English and Chinese. Oddly, there is no lunch sets. Only the same items from their regular menu with no discount in price but only the offering of a drink at 50% off. Not very competitive in an area of the city with a competitive lunch market. No wonder, it wasn't even full during lunch hour.

However, boyfriend had grabbed a flyer from one of the women passing out flyers outside the MTR station. With the flyer, you get a free coffee or tea during lunch and afternoon tea session. So, we used that to get a drink.

I ordered the Papprich Chicken Rice ($88). It was fairly sad to look at. Meat was tender enough though the amount of skin was actually more than the amount of chicken meat. Beansprouts were served and were a bit bland even though there was a layer of sauce on top. It came with a bowl of chicken soup that was actually not too bad but I think for $88, they could have skimmed the fat off.

The coffee was  bit weak and far too bitter, verging on a burnt taste. Remember to mix it up as the condensed milk found at the bottom of the cup.  I have no idea why it was served to me in this spilt state. For this price, I expected a bit more tidiness. Boyfriend had the tea. I forgot to take a photo but it was filled with bubbles on top. This was confusing to us. It also tasted weak.

Food was comparable to what I'd find at a cha chan teng for half the price, give your a free drink and there is no 10%. No wonder it was so quiet. Will not return.
