I've been disappointed with the German food in Hong Kong. Not super disappointed, mind you; I spent my last 7 years in New Jersey and I don't think I ate at a German restaurant once my entire time there. So it's nice that there are options, but King Ludwig isn't really setting the bar all that high.(No offense to Austrians, but I'm just going to call this German food from here on out.)The meal started with bread. (No offense to Austrians, but I'm just going to call this German food from here on out.)
(Note: I liked the schnitzel at the now-closed Frites in LKF better. Whether the other Frites are just as good, I cannot say.)
I was happy with the meal, but I still feel that there's better sausage AND schnitzel to be had, so I won't unreservedly recommend this place. It's cramped (my legs barely fit at our table), the music choices are... odd (e.g. "do what you want with my body"), and the beer selection is surprisingly limited. Also, sauerkraut is $58 for a side (!!!), when of course it should come free with the sausages. It's good and all, but it could be way better.
Other Info. :
There are almost no seats in the restaurant and you need a reservation.
