Mom's birthday and usually we will end up having Japanese teppanyaki grill or buffet at shangri la hotel. However this year for a change i have search open rice and found this place. Dad loves the idea of not having a totally FULL stomach with all you can eat - i guess it does make you eat less with smaller main dish? So The Verandah semi-buffet is a great choice, but we were on the wait list for 2 weeks before they inform us the tables for 21 people are available The view is directly looking

The view is directly looking at the space museum and HK cultural center, ok and some part of the beautiful sea view of HK habour
Both appetizer and dessert is all you can eat at the buffet bar~
We have a choice of fish, lamb or steak, I choose lamb over steak (as i don't like fish).
The appetizer especially the salad, cold cuts are very unique where i haven't try those from other hotel buffet I love the cold prawns the best, they are so fresh, i almost had 10!!!
The main course is not really appealing as it is lamb stew with rice, which i was expecting lamb chop. Probably due to expectation, this isn't taste like top of the world dish for me, it's good but not something i'd like to go for again.
Desserts probably have around 30+ only. There are cakes, biscuits, cookies, jelly, mousse, ice cream...If there are more variety, which most hotel buffet has around 40+ it would make this dinner even better
I will dine again with friends and family as it is quite nice.
