Wanted to try HEXA last February when my friends from shanghai visited but it was booked for event so I could only save for next time. And now it became my birthday choice.

HEXA is a hidden area in the ocean terminal. I had to ask for direction which is very rare.

There’s an escalator leading to HEXA directly. The fit-out was quite impressive as it didn’t look anything like a Chinese restaurants. It can be compared with Mott32 because they were of similar style. Western decoration with fusion Chinese cuisine. HEXA won for the location and view. And the lighting was moody yet bright enough to see the dishes. (If you’ve been to Mott32, you would know what I mean).

Before my father arrived, I took sometime to take a few photos at the harbour front with my mum. ☺️

Let’s talk about the food. I order five dishes with a dessert. The 五香牛展(beef) with jelly fish, cha xiu with honey flavour, green asparagus with fish soup, pawns with green and red pepper ( Sichuan style), fried spaghetti (rice shape) of Yangzhou style. The beef was too normal and a bit too soft. The cha xiu was nice. I like the texture of the meat, just right. It would be appreciated more by people who prefer very sweetened one. The green asparagus was a bit old. The pawn was quite special. And we all liked it. It brought a bit of the numbness to our tongues as Sichuan style but not hot. Very good for people who enjoy a bit of excitement but can bear the spicy 🌶. The fried spaghetti was a special one as well. The texture was really like rice. At last I ended my dinner with a Chinese style dessert, sweet soup with peach gum. It’s an expensive one but the cheapest on the menu 😂😂 hkd 98 each. Just a very normal one.

Overall, the menu was just fine. A bit expensive mainly for the view.
