We came here to try the omakase menu on offer. The items in the a la carte menu has been significantly reduced from previous years where there was a large range of fresh seafood and skewers. The fourth dish was an egg roll and a sashimi prawn with fish roe filled cracker. The cracker was not crispy and soggy. The egg roll was overcooked in my opinion.

The fifth dish was a steamed egg with foie gras and fish roe. The foie gras was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The dish was beautifully presented.

The eighth dish was a tempura crab leg and okra. Lightly fried, freshly made and full of flavour.

The ninth dish was a clam meat with mini mushrooms in seafood broth. The clam meat was fresh and tender and the broth had a deep umami flavour.

The tenth and eleventh dishes was fried rice and seafood soup. There were clams and Chuck’s pieces of fish meat in the soup.

The twelfth dish was dessert rock melon, jelly and a sour non-alcoholic cocktail.


The entire process took nearly 2 hours and there were waits of between 25 to 30 minutes in between dishes. At the end there is a good variety of food on offer, but the grilled skewer dish of tofu is odd and I would have expected it to be grilled meat skewers. To me the set is not very filling. The restaurant did say they were trialing the omakase set menu and may change back to the menu before. I think I won’t return until it changes back.
