Mr. Chua Lan, the famous gourmet, once wrote that this place make the best dry fried beef noodle in HK. I have been here before, never tried the noodle, but my impression of other food such as congee was just so-so. Too much MSG. I have been here before, never tried the noodle, but my impression of other food such as congee was just so-so. Too much MSG. However, his description of the noodle was so invincible that I was tempted to give it a try.
I bought a box for takeaway while my husband was away for business. Once opened, I was already disappointed. Unlike Mr Chua's description, it was very greasy. The taste was just average, and the beef was marinated with soda. It was overprice for such quality. I guess Mr. Chua's noodle must have been specially made for him.
