Grove Cafe is a newish cafe that opened in boyfriend's residential area. I met him here for a late lunch as I had never tried this place before. And I really just wanted a sandwich. The cafe is pretty big and you order at the cashier. Food will be brought to you when it's ready. I had the Grove Club Sandwich ($44). This was a three layer sandwich cut into three slim slices. The layers were lettuce, tomato and ham and lettuce, spam, onion and egg. I guess I was expecting a whole slab of spam but what I got was miniscule bits mixed in with the egg. The bread wasn't toasted but only a little bit so it wasn't very crunchy. The fries were soggy.

Boyfriend had the Baked Penne Bolognese ($34). He scooped me a spoonful. The penne was hard as a rock. It was definitely overbaked. The tomato sauce was ok and quite a lot but there wasn't much mince meat found. Portion size was actually not too bad for $34.

The pasta was ok not great but at least it was cheap. The club sandwich was pretty forgettable. I don't think I'd be back.
