We walk by this little restaurant every Saturday lunch time as we are in the area for recreational purposes. I usually peek in and see if there are any free tables available. This place is very popular as it serves authentic Italian pasta in a rustic home made setting. It always has a que of people waiting at peak periods and only seats no more than about 25 persons. Luckily on this day, they had a couple of seats free and we were in for a quick ‘hit and run’ lunch. The menu here during lunch
Luckily on this day, they had a couple of seats free and we were in for a quick ‘hit and run’ lunch. The menu here during lunch and dinner periods is exactly the same, but the only difference is during lunch time there is a set menu where you get soup of the day and a beverage.
It is maybe our 4th visit here and I can say they have been getting busier, and unfortunately from my opinion their standards are slipping.
The Lentil soup was luke warm and very bland, needed more seasoning. For the mains, we always order the Spatzle Cream Bacon Pasta. This dish consists of small dumplings of dough with a creamy cheese sauce with chunks of bacon added in. The taste remains unchanged, it is good, but the portion seems smaller and just isn’t enough for a male.
The service was rude on the day of my visit. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were having a bad day and try again soon to double check if their standards and manners have really slipped.
