I initially wanted to order a blueberry cake for my mother's birthday at Maxim's, but almost all birthday cakes weighed at least 2 pounds. The texture was a mixture of smooth green tea paste (to stick the cake layers together) and soft chocolate cake as well as juicy fruits - if well distributed among eaters. The moist green tea paste combined with the slight dryness of the chocolate cake layers was perfect. Not too sweet, just the perfect flavour for us. I was afraid the cake would look too simple, but I was wrong. The white stripe - icing sugar - and the small green stripes created a good contrast with the green tea square top. Red strawberries, green tea and white icing sugar also went well with the holiday season. I was totally impressed.
Simple, delicious: just the right cake for any occasion.
