As one of the staple dishes in Hong Kong, the egg tart is a must have not only be locals but in any chinese restaurant around the world. Although not a big fan of sweet items, I always make room for this item. Tai Cheong bakery, which opened a branch in Hung Hom, Hong Kong is my go to place. They serve two types of egg tarts, one with a flaky crust and the other with a butter crust. My personal preference is the one with the flaky crust as the butter crust is a bit heavy for my palette. Cost is HK$6.5 a piece but on most days its buy one get one free. Definitely high on the calorie count but definitely worth having one of these bad boys any day in my opinion.
