The tasting menu from Tokyo Lima is something that you shouldn’t miss.Starting with their Nikkei Ice Bowl that’s ready to open up your palate. The tuna watermelon is amazing! You get the chewy texture from the tuna and the juice from the watermelon that is so refreshing. You can find the fried sweet potato chips that add crunchiness. Starting with their Nikkei Ice Bowl that’s ready to open up your palate. The tuna watermelon is amazing! You get the chewy texture from the tuna and the juice from the watermelon that is so refreshing. You can find the fried sweet potato chips that add crunchiness.
The ceviche classico is fresh and it’s a bit spicy from the sliced chilli. They put some fried corn kernels that give saltiness and crispiness to the dish. The hamachi is so fresh, it’s a very well balanced dish, tangy and sweet and the same time.
The la causa (fried prawn) has a mashed potato at the bottom and it’s creamy. Shrimp is sweet and goes well with the green onion sauce.
For second course, you get the amazing taco with beef cheek. The beef tataki melts in your mouth and it’s a bit garlicky. The prawn acevichada has a hamachi sashimi at the top and tempura prawn rolled inside.
For the main, Tokyo Lima steak has crust on the outside and tender inside. It was at the right temperature. The seared salmon has a crispy skin and not too dry. The Peruvian seafood rice is comforting and they are very generous with the seafood.
The dessert really makes you go “oyeee”. The coconut ice cream is on point, the chocolate cookie is addictive. Don’t forget to get some of the chocolate sauce!
For the drinks we chose spices shop (as recommended by the staff). It has this refreshing flavour and slight bitterness. Kobai has a strong flavour.
