Came with a group of friends, all 9 of us, for a dinner gathering/meeting. They only have 3 tables, 2 of which can barely sit 10 ppl (we were kinda sitting in awkward spots, such as right at the corner of the table), but if it's a close group of friends, it's pretty cozy. Came with a group of friends, all 9 of us, for a dinner gathering/meeting. Weisbier on draught... i haven't searched HK high and low before for it,but it was a pleasant surprise to find it here.... much nicer head than from bottled ones.... lots of brownie points for that. $39 a pint for HH, otherwise $67, still a bargain. We had over 10 pints amongst us, although a couple of girls didn't drink.

We ordered dishes to share:
2 plates of deep fried mushrooms (nicely battered, juicy without being soggy inside)

a rather paltry and bland salad, consisting of lettuce leaves, a few rings of raw onions, 2 olives and some sliced mushrooms, at ~$50

mixed sausages (they said there are supposed to be 6 types, but i only counted 5, maybe i don't know my currywurst from my gebratenwurst...) nice and juicy, goes well with the 3 types of senf (mustard, especially love the sweet one, reminds me of bavarian restaurants)

the pork knuckles (not too salty, great with beer), came with fries, beans and sauerkraut- quite nice if you like pickled stuff

the roast chicken (frozen chicken, meat a bit dry, not enough seasoning, but large enough portion to share at least), also with fries and beans

frikadelle with more fries and beans (german meatballs, 6 pieces, a bit on the small side, and slightly tough, but taste was ok)

veal schnitzel and again, no surprises, fries and beans, (2 palm-sized slices, in bavaria they are much thinner as the pork is flattened out first, then battered and fried.... and i've had schnitzel in bavaria the size of a pizza.... but this is HK, can't expect it to be exactly the same, but hope the chef can make it closer to the original)

and yes...... free water from jugs and unlimited bread. Coffee was decent, and so was the house wine.

music was definitely audible over our conversation, but at least the choice of music wasn't too terrible. The waitresses are nice, although they did forget our first order of frikadelle, and added an additional side dish of sauerkraut to us when we didn't order any.
