Came here for biz lunch earlier this week. We decided to opt for the set lunch here, which includes an appetizer, soup, main dish and dessert. There were a lot of choices to pick from for the appetizer and main course.
We picked the sweet vinegar spare ribs and sliced chicken with Vermicelli in sesame sauce as appetizers. The sweet vinegar sauce was just right, not too sweet and sour while the spare ribs were tender and juicy. The chicken was tender, the vermicelli was smooth and soft, and the sesame sauce mixed well with the chicken and vermicelli. As for the soup, we both decided to go for the West Lake Beef soup as the other choice has bamboo shoots in it. The soup was very hot, and the soup base was not too thick while the beef bites were soft and tasty. Then came the main courses. We ordered the black pepper beef fired rice and the wine stir fried fish fillet. The black pepper beef fried rice was quite big in portion, to my surprise. But most importantly, the taste was good. The black pepper taste was strong, the beef was tender and juicy and the fried rice was dry. A very nice dish overall. Meanwhile, the wine stir fried fish fillet was very soft and tender, but the rice wine sauce could be stronger as my taste buds can barely tasted it, still a good dish overall.
Lastly, I had the sweet mango and pomelo soup for dessert, the sweet soup was tasty and not too sweet, but I would like to have more pomelo and mango cubes in the soup.
The set lunch is a great deal for a 1 star Michelin star restaurant. Too bad it is only available on weekdays as I rarely come to this area.
